Merino leather seat care
Curious what people are putting on the merino seats? I'm not ready to make the leap to a ceramic coating for the interior.
What are people using other than the ceramics? Thanks! |

My detailer says ceramic coating for leather is not much better than leather protector. Instead of trying to sell me an expensive product.
Just keep it tidy, clean regulalry with a damp cloth, normally you don't need anything else really. I have merino ivory white leather in 3 cars over last 7 years, never an issue. |

I just use a lightly damped MF towel with one spritz of chemical guys leather cleaner about once every couple of weeks. I use the conditioner about once every 2-3 months.

Colourlock cleaner to clean, Letherique rejuvinator after.
Comes out looking factory matte! I've tried tons of stuff out there, and this has been the best combo i've found so far. |

CarPro Leather 2.0 to coat it (when new), Colourlock (mild) cleaner to keep it looking good-as-new. (I have the full suite of Colourlock leather products, in case I need one or more of them.). I also have Leather Masters dye transfer leather cleaner (if I ever need it for stubborn stains).
Silverstone full leather here, BTW, with 19,000+ miles and no stains, discolorations, or other imperfections. |

This is pretty much exactly what I do. I am only 5000 miles in but it looks brand new. No wrinkles or anything in the carbon buckets.

When I had my F80 I used chemical guys cleaner and conditioner. I was a detailing noob and figured that’s what all leather care products were like. The conditioner specifically would leave my leather shiny even after wiping off excess.
Now, I swear by colourlock products. The leather comes out factory matte after each use. I use the mild cleaner and the leather shield about once a month on my steering wheel and every 6 months for the front seats. Planning to do the rear seats every year. |

I’ve used Geist which is good, however I found Koch Chemie products. I’ve been using their products exclusively on exterior and interior.

I used meguiars leather care, had a few light stains on my ivory, from kids and clubs in the car.
All better now. I like meguiars, I apply pretty thick and then gently towel down after. I am going to ceramic the interior though. For light cleaning and some basic protection, meguiars works well. Doesn’t stain. I use it on every piece of leather in the bmw and Porsche, no issues over multiple applications. |

Another reason why i do use chemical guys, although when it comes to leather care, i haven't really tried many brands, probably about only 3 including CG, and chemical guys has a smell that gives off that "new car" scent lol. So 18 months later i get into my car and it almost smells like the day i took delivery.

I use the Chemical Guys leather quick detailer. Smells great and quick and easy to use. Use it on the furniture inside as well. Only thing is it does leave some shine. Lots of good stuff out there. Fun to try different brands to find what you like.

From my understanding, the Colourlock "Shield" doesn't nourish the leather. Seems like Colourlock recommends using Shield to protect the leather for the first ~3 years, then switch to using Protect. After switching, they say you can wait a day after applying Protect, and put Shield in places where rubbing can occur, like the bolsters.
This is what they recommended in the Obsessed Garage video with employees from Colourlock. Seems odd that you wouldn't use a product that nourished the leather for years. |

I hear that Urine works well.
If it’s good enough for the Roman Empire… https://www.grunge.com/630800/how-an...nning-leather/ Whiten your laundry, clean your teeth, protect your leather all with the power of Urus Performante! Er, I mean Urine Performante! https://www.smithsonianmag.com/scien...-urine-442390/ How long before the trend reappears? Think of the worst possible thing, the exact opposite of what you desire, and you’ll find it on the internet. |

First post...new to the forums. Hello!
I'm a little too involved with keeping my interiors/cars clean. Some may some too much so. Personally, it's an excuse to spend time with my car (as in, I get to spend time with my buddy that doesn't talk back!). I usually defer to the forums/products offered by AutoGeek. Lots of professional detailers on the site and the products I've used thus far are great (with an explanation of what each does). And no, I'm not affiliated with them, just a customer. (Products may be found at autogeeks' site, here). Personally, I've used the Griot's Garage 3-in-1 (product link) with all my previous cars. Good results, no residue, no shine or greasy feeling, and smells a bit like a strong leathery smell. So, don't go overboard with it. Now that the bottle is finished (a little goes a long way), I believe I may give the Pinnacle brand a go (Leather care; Suede Care). A bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for in this instance. No need to use much product, if you take your time and clean it regularly. Enjoy! M.C.
