Any way to stop CarPlay from taking over the radio after starting the car?
Have a 2020 M340i and love it. However it seems like CarPlay and I-Drive are like competing against each other for a lack of a better way to describe it.
I’ve set up the shortcut button 1 to go directly to Sirius presets since I really like satellite radio. Usually anywhere from a few seconds to a minute after start CarPlay pops up and switches to Spotify or music on my iPhone. I’ll then press preset button 1 and go back to Sirius presets. Not a big deal but just wondering if there was a smarter way to do this? |

I’m unsure. I know there’s a setting under the connection for your phone for the preference between CarPlay and iDrive. But, I think both will switch away from Sirius regardless when your phone connects

Instead of using the shortcut, next time, try going to the media tab and actually selecting SiriusXM as your media choice.
After you do that, and then turn the car off, see if it doesn't remember your preferred audio source the next time you start up. We had the same problem, and that seemed to fix it. But we're on ID8... so it may not be the same thing. |
