Sorry I can’t help with cost however I did want to comment in recommending to stick to OEM windshield. Too may horror stories of aftermarket windshields being thinner, not optimal fitment, messing with sensors, etc.

Windshield is $1480.00 ish from BMW. Labor will vary but typically $700-$1,100 since you have the HUD and that has to be calibrated.

I had mine replaced through my insurance recently.

Because of the fear of HUD getting screwed up, I requested for OEM glass and they directed me to Safelite which charged the insurance company $1069 for the windshield + $225 for driver assistance system calibration

That’s exactly what I quoted give or take. Thanks.

Yep definitely file an insurance claim if you have comprehensive. I got broken windshields from rocks twice in the past year and needed 2 new windshields. Paid my $100 deductible each time. Would have been $1100 each time without insurance. But that was on my previous car I imagine its even more expensive ($2k+) for the BMW.

There is a possibility that can be repaired. If it can be, the repairs are very good. A repair is virtually always a better option than having the windshield removed, because a replacement installation is never as good as the factory installation.

In the first photo it looks like the crack may be less than the length of a dollar bill. In the second it looks like it may be longer. The length of a dollar bill is a rough estimate of being repairable.

Although I agree that a 'repair' can save a lot of cash, and sometimes it will be a great alternative. Just remember that a repaired windshield is weakened.

If you have an early spring where you get freezing nights and warmer days . . . that can bring that ugly repair back to haunt you. Speaking from experience.

Temperature changes on glass - that is weekend . . . it would be better long term to replace. I used Safelight through Geico when it happened to me in March

I assure you that the windshield cant be repaired. The crack has grown alot and has gone passed half of the windshield. It has to get replaced.

Dude, you don’t have to assure me of anything. Maybe you need to look at your original post again and reread my post. Based on what could be seen in the photos you posted I said there was a possibility it could be repaired. We’re not clairvoyant here. We have no way of knowing what happened with the crack after you posted the photos.
