M340i rear diffuser
I bought a rear diffuser from AKA. Kind of looks good but honestly the lateral don’t fit well. The clasps are not long enough to hold in the rear bumper. Will post some pictures and of someone has a tip of how to make it fit I will really appreciate it. Thank you!

Nothing man. Tomorrow I will spend a couple more hours trying and if I get something will let you know. At the end is just an aftermarket piece trying to fit in a complicated design. The clips don’t go all the way in and that’s why pops. Annoying.

The fit between the rear of the diffuser and the sides that go towards the rear wheel arches looks poor. Do they come as seperate parts? If so they may have to be fitted in a particular order or it may be that those pieces are stopping the rear portion seating properly and need re-adjustment?
I'd try fitting just the rear portion without them to see if it fits and go from there as it should help isolate the problem area. Also may be worth carefully checking the fit to establish whether there are areas where the diffuser is pressing on the bumper and not allowing the diffuser to seat properly. If so can they be adjusted or a little removed? From the info provided, its not clear if the fit is close and nearly engages or not? Is there enough material on the clips on the diffuser to remove a little material and elongate the holes (at the end that engages with the bumper ) just enough to get it to fit properly? Obviously not an option if there isn't enough material OR if it would leave it too weak. UPDATE: Just looking at a another recent post and found this. Have a look about 15mins into the video as it deals with a similar problem.... might not be exactly the same as yours but may help. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2056526 Good luck and hope you get it solved.

I'm not sure if this is helpful, because it's a 330 and a different diffuser, but the fitment issue seems to be the same. This guy had to trim some of the diffuser because it was hitting a bolt that was causing the sides to pop out. Jump to 15:00.

Thank you guys! It’s pretty much not just enough building quality and yes, the clips are not long enough and come with an inclination opposite to the fitting holes in the original bumper. But definitely going to check both videos and post some updates when I figure this out. Thank you all again!!!

I found this video earlier but I don’t think I have the same problem. I trimmed up my bumper as well but no luck. Any idea if we could cut a hole and put a ziptie in place?
Gonna take another look at it later today and see what I can do. |

Alright! After a couple hours I finaly got this done. Like I said before, poor quality built by AKA but I can’t spect more for an aftermarket diffuser. I ended up moving the exhausts tips to the inside and after the diffuser got into its place, without damaging the bumper of the car, I had to put through a couple bolts and now is fixed and tight. Doesn’t move at all.

Yeah if you look it from below, the car was up in a plant, but from the natural position looks great. Hard to notice.

Just for reference, BMW already makes this and it fits perfectly out of the box (this is mine). Granted it's about $100 more, but you won't be dealing with any of these issues.

That’s just beautiful man. When I tried to get it from BMW they advertirse $1270 and I didn’t notice that was the carbon fiber, the regular is just $407 and you just see it when you do the buy process. So my bad for not do the homework properly.

Hey there! Man I will do my best explaining because it’s kind of difficult. I basically went through the inside of the bumper, with a bolt and catched the very last clip of the diffuser without damaging the outside of my own bumper. It was the only way to hold it but once you hold it, it doesn’t go anymore. I also had to cut the holes of the exhaust tips in order to move them a little bit to the inside of the car so it coincided perfectly with the diffuser’s holes.
