My BMW's welcome message on the iDrive screen is "Welcome Stephen" . Can I change that to "Welcome Steve"? If so, how?

I think you do it in the MyBMW app. Go into Profile Data and set your nickname to Steve.

My nickname is already set to Steve, and in the MyBMW App when I go to my profile data it says “Hello Steve”. In the Connected Drive website the My Details page gives the welcome message is “Hello Stephen” shows my name as Mr Stephen (surname) and my nickname as Steve. I can edit my name to be Mr Steve (surname) and update my profile. However, if I then log out and log back in, my name reverts to Mr Stephen (surname).

Me too. I can't remember if it was in my previous car which was a 540i with an early version of ID7 (aka ID7 Lite).

I just had a play around whilst waiting in the car. It basically just takes your first name as defined in the app profile data. You need to change Stephen to Steve. I just changed mine from Steven to Steve

What’s annoying is, if you configure a nickname, it uses it in the app but not the car.

Thanks - I had just sorted it when your reply was posted.

I did change my first name to Steve yesterday and pressed the "APPLY" button, but that didn't retain the change. What I had neglected to do was also press the "UPDATE PROFILE" button.
