Approved used 330i M Sport Touring - what to check?
Hi folks,
First post and soon to own first BMW - a 10 month old 330i M Sport Touring (2022) - which I collect on Friday. I have neither bought a BMW before, nor a used car (previous cars have all been new and from VAG group). Are there any specifics I should check are present upon pick up? Specifically I was wondering about a tyre repair kit and a tool kit? Manuals? The storage space in the boot (not sure of the correct name) has a velcro strap in it but nothing else. I asked the dealer and they said that as the vehicle has run flats, no repair kit is supplied. Is this accurate? Why would there be a start loose like that? Appreciate any other tips you can offer for me to bear in mind before collection? I look forward to contributing going forward and thanks in advance. The standard 18" wheels on the 330i are not run-flat so you should have a mobility kit (compressor and gunk).
The manual is in the iDrive.

Thank you - that's really helpful to know. I will take it up with the dealer. The vehicle seems to have Pirelli P7's fitted which I believe are run flat but I may be wrong...

Well it's possible that they've been changed or they came like that. Certainly the 18" M-Sport wheels were non-RFT up to the end of 2021 but maybe changed in 2022 - and P7s are available in RFT and not.

Picked the car up today and am in love. However, the hand-over was a shambles. The dealer had forgotten about the tyre question and then maintained that they were run flats. I had a look and suggested (again) they were not. Fast forward and a mechanic appears only to confirm they are not run flats!
They then proceed to take the boot to bits searching for a compressor and gunk kit and its not there (again as I suggested). They also failed to put any petrol in the vehicle. Anyway, we got there but to without them leaving me waiting nearly 45 minutes in the hand-over bay while a petrol run was done and the workshop fitted the tyre kit. Expected better from Arden's BMW... I appreciate the help I got here! |

The dealers know sfa about what they're selling. AFAIK, the 330i with the 18" M-Sport wheels never had factory-fitted RFT, always normal tyres + gunk kit. Glad you're enjoying the car though.

Always irritated me the lesser spec cars got this upgrade , and the 340 was stuck with runcraps

Same for me, went BMW approved used. Car was good but the dealer experience was terrible. Nearly put me off tbh. Not responding to emails, giving out duff information.

Main dealers so often do seem clueless about the (expensive) product they sell.
I actually picked up my M340i last week. Thankfully Lloyd South Lakes were really good, all was present and correct and they went through all the features and bits and bobs knowledgeably. I was happy compared to say Sytner who took a more "it's over there, good luck" approach when I bought my previous 340i. Back to puncture kits etc. Mine is on run flats but I've got a second set of wheels I am putting winter rubber on and don't want run flats. Has anyone got the right part number for a G21 for the mobility kit? I'm having difficulty identifying it. Would buy one of the generic ones from Amazon but am also keen it fits neatly in the car. |

I think it's 71102333674 - that's the part number listed alongside the official winter tyre sets anyway. There are also the parts shown on this RealOEM page if you're after the tray and bits you'd get if the car had it from the factory.
