Front European License Plate Mounting for US 330e
I own a 2023 330e and I haven’t really done anything to it but I would really like to get a front German license plate for my car. My only issue is that I would like to find a way to mount a German plate but without drilling into my bumper. Does anyone have any good idea on how to mount it without drilling or is there no way to avoid drilling into the bumper?

For no-drill attachments, inside or outside, I use 3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener (TB3550). It has a temperature rating of 200°F (93°C). Used it to mount mudguards to my trike to avoid drilling holes in its fiberglass fenders. Five years through hot summers, while being subjected to many miles of travel under gritty, grimy and oily road conditions. No failures or losses to date.
If you have no fear that the bracket and plate might get stolen, then this a good no-drill method to consider. I have a Euro Front Mounting Plate Bracket that I plan to install using 3M's Dual Lock Fastener.

Thought I would revisit and update with photos after mounting my Euro Plate to the front of my M440ix Gran Coupe. I used the 3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener shown in my previous post.
The bracket and plate can be easily removed for cleaning of the surfaces behind it, but it can also be easily stolen. I'll just remove mine and place it in the trunk, if the need arises. In some areas, a stolen plate and bracket would likely be the least of my concerns.

Check out StoNSho.
3-Series options <-link You can select the Foreign Front Plate option. They are a bit pricey though. There may also be other options out there as well but I purchased this for the US option and can speak about it. It is easy to install by bolting on the bracket with the existing bolts then sliding the backing plate in. |

In Arkansas, a vehicle may have an out-of-country non-US plate in the front as long as the Oficial State Plate in the rear is current (and accurate).

I could see using our Euro Delivery plate or plate you had while being stationed in Europe... but to slap a random plate on the car is... very clapped out VW.
/signed by a guy that put a custom German plate on his VW Golf 20+ years ago All that said, I use 3M double sided automotive tape on my NL plate - it's been there nearly four years at this point w/o issue. |
