Did you ever figure out how to solve this? I have tried to reset it but the option is not on there. (parking break were off) I also, tried using the scanner with no luck. Took it to a BMW shop and they tried with the scanner too still cant get it reset. Just curious if you ever found an answer for this.

Out of curiosity, were the brake pad wear sensors worn down before the pads were replaced? If so and if the worn sensor was not replaced, that could be a reason that the message will not go away (a new wear sensor would need to be installed).

I replaced it with aftermarket sensor at first with no luck and then bought another one from BMW (thinking the aftermarket is trash) and problem still persist. I even tried with the OBD scanner to see if there was a way to reset it from there and had no luck. The obd scanner that I used is by Foxwell.
