I just got a 2019 330 xdrive and I’d like to tune it with bm3 and xHP. My understanding is I don’t need a fetmo unlock? What unlock do I need and does it require removing the ecu?

Also how do I get sport plus and comfort plus coded in?

Recommendation?

Edit: I got MG Flasher. I did not need a unlock.

You need something called "bench unlock". On a 2019 car pretty much any tuner can do that for you, but it requires disconnecting the ECU and removing it from the car (thus it's called bench unlock)

On cars produced after 06.2020 the ECU is different and the only known way to unlock is to send it to Finland to FEMTO (or to the local tuner which will send it to Finland).
Regardless of which ECU you have it is locked in the factory so people can not flash random stuff.
AFAIK xHP does NOT require ECU unlock because it is TCU software.
As for sport+, comfort+, etc. I believe you need bench unlock

I have a 2019 with an early production date. You're gunna need a bench unlock.

There is no unlock needed if you're doing xHP only. You'll need it for BM3.
