To be honest I dont think ill be getting another brand new build. I makes 0 financial sense. You can find something 90% of what you want probably with low 20k miles that is 2 years or so.

Unless its puraly want and you dont care about money and if you will get a good discount.
I got 2 of my new cats because I got huge discount one was about 10k off and another during covid with 5k off with insane trade in value.

Yeah, I don't think the enjoyment of a new build would outweigh the con of more depreciation.

Welp, that didn't take long. Came to the realization that finding a used car with my spec was a crap shoot. Ending up building a MY25 at about 5.8% off MSRP (no rebates as I don't qualify).

For the extra ~$5k compared to where the LCI used market is at, I'd say it's worth it. I won't have to worry about getting a car that has been abused, it's my spec, etc.

So, for anyone on the fence, there are deals to be had on new and if you can spend the extra, it's probably better than where the gently used market is.

I did the same, I order a '25 M440 GC, got 5.5% off and an add'l $2500 as I qualified for the immediate family member militairy discount. I was always a one yr old used guy or dealer courtesy car buyer. I bought my last 5 series brand new and did very well on the trade. I may keep this car as my sports car and buy another in 3 years. We'll see...

Where I work at, we are the smallest BMW dealership on the East coast. We will not match anything that any other dealer quotes you. We have to be 1500 above invoice as a company. You can definitely negotiate with larger dealerships, and get the best deals there.

Sounds like a great move. When the leases come due, the good ones are going to be scooped up quickly and will have minimal standard warranty left.

I'm hoping that the holiday season incentives kick in another decent chunk to trim the gap between used even more.

I'd call another and get what you want there. Shipping is probs less than 1K - I saved over 4K +1500 ad on less shipping is probs over 4K in your pocket.

Over list is insane! Especially now..

Glad to see other people also getting great deals. Some of the dealers I was talking to made it sound like it was impossible to do those types of deals.

I ended up ordering a '25 430ix GC late July and just picked it up yesterday. This thread would have been helpful when I was researching current market trends back then.

My purchase was at a dealer with a $995 dealer processing fee. So if you count the $995 as part of the negotiated price of the car, I got 5% plus $2500 for Navy Fed discount. If you don't count the dealer processing fee, then the discount is an artificially impressive 6.7%. Or if you take the halfway point and assumed a more "reasonable" $500 dealer fee, the discount is 5.8%. There were no other trades or add-ons or financing.
