Thinking about having one of these installed, does anyone on here have any insights / thoughts as to how good they are opposed to Nextbase Dash Cams

As far as I'm concerned it works fine, and does what I'd expect from a dashcam. The thing that swung it in favour of other brands for me were the reports I'd read of people having their cars report battery problems in parking mode. Several people had resorted to buying battery packs to overcome the problems, but they're not cheap. I haven't had any such problems with the BMW camera. The cost of a camera plus a battery pack possibly comes close to the BMW price.

Before you take the plunge, have a look around Bimmerpost, and find out what people have said about parking mode/battery issues.

A sizeable potion of the cost of the BMW system is for the installation. This link is for an X5 ACE 2.0 installation, I was staggered how much trim they remove. That amount of BMW dealership workshop time doesn't come cheap!

Hi just picked up my ‘74 2024 420i M Sport Pro this weekend.

Had the Eye 3.0 fitted (not the professional one with the lcd screen).

My question is can I access the camera and footage remotely. If so, how?

I only seem to be able to connect via Bluetooth.

I though I would be able to view clips or live view say when I’m away from the car like on holiday!?

A year past August some arse took my driver's door mirror off on a two-way road because he was too far over to the crown of the road and once I had the car repaired I decided I needed a Dashcam in case anything similar ever happened again! Plus the added benefit the security aspect wouldn't go amiss.
I decided on the Advanced Eye 3.0 Pro for the same reasons as 'sjb993' posted above.
The dealer installation was exemplary and have had no battery issues whatsoever with it since fitting.
Also had the same version unit fitted to my wife's 220i coupe and similarly had no issues with hers either.

I have the front and rear Ace 3 set-up no problems at all with battery.
