Finally Roadtripped
I've been meaning to post that I finally took a 1600 Mi round trip road trip in my BMW 330i four-door. It went very well. I'm 5'9 190, so the vehicle is just big enough for me. Comfort wise. Anyway I actually took my bike with me and hauled it in the back with seats down and front wheel off. I still have plenty of room for everything else I took.
This probably doesn't sound like a big deal to a lot of people but it was very important to me that I could take this car across country and be comfortable. Mission accomplished. Not to mention an amazing ride. |

Oh and I forgot to mention extremely good gas mileage. Low 40s. In economy mode probably 80% of the time. 80 to 85 mph. Of all the things in this car that I was not expecting before I bought it is the Fantastic gas mileage.

Glad you had a fun time!
I recently moved across the country and I had an amazing time in my 24' M340. I only had 3500k miles on it but drove like a dream. Drove from Dallas to NorCal. My car was loaded down with a tv and boxes etc in all seats except drivers. Everything I owned was in the car. I couldn't see outside the rear view mirror lol In west texas it's very flat, a Coyote Mustang wanted to have fun and well, he got left behind? Not sure how that worked, along with being so loaded down but i'm not complaining lol The car stayed on at the new mexico/arizona border overnight for 6 hours before I started driving another 8 or 9 to Los Angeles. I was afraid of break ins if I stayed at a hotel since all my belongings were in my car so I slept in it. Car drove like a dream without any hiccups into my destination, in NorCal. I then have traveled all around Norcal and need my first service less then a year into purchasing the car haha I want to drive down PCH to Los Angeles now. Go canyon carving around the bay. Need to make friends around the area |

The current BMW 3 series is a great road trip car. Comfortable ride, all the space most folks need, and really great gas mileage.
The only downside I found is the stock Pirelli P7 19” runflats, where the low profile and apparently poor construction makes them vulnerable to sidewall damage and blowouts. It’s easy to say “call AAA”, but they can take a lot of time to respond in a rural area, and local tire stores probably don’t stock the replacement tire you need. Even in a populated area (e.g., Minneapolis) I found the BMW dealer did not have a tire on hand to replace mine with a sidewall bulge. Being told on Saturday that “we can get it Monday” will screw up a vacation schedule. |

They are great road cars, aren't they.
My wife and I just returned from a round trip from St. Louis to Denver in our M340i. In Eco mode most of the time. Had to gas up only once each way. We took our new Z4 to Michigan earlier this spring. It's not bad at all for a several day trip with plenty of luggage space. The M340i gets better gas mileage than the 4cyl Z4, but that wasn't really surprising. |

I also moved in my m340, from Los Angeles to the North Bay, also with my vehicle stuffed to the gills. Great all around vehicles, G20’s.

Even with the car fully loaded down, I ended up visiting Balboa Beach and surrounding area. I really enjoy SoCal! Also was nice to light one up, legally LOL All around great car. I even got 40MPG during my trip which I thought was really good. Just dropped off my car at the dealer to get the windshield replaced and first service completed. I got an X3 as a loaner and wow it feels like im sitting so high up! Cant wait to get my M340 back |
