It was weird after updating the new Apple system IOS18, the IDrive8 system does not connect my phone for CarPlay. I wonder if anyone else experienced similar situation and has a solution to the problem.

Have you tried reconnecting to CarPlay under Mobile Devices in iDrive 8?

Push volume button for 30 seconds to reboot iDrive. If that alone doesn’t fix it, then remove phone from Mobile Devices, add it again, and re-pair phone. It’s a common problem that predates the iPhone update.
