I'm trying to help out my son who has a 2019 G20 330e.

Various things on his car are randomly reset, and it happens fairly frequently. Things such as rear window lock button, BC stalk button setting, ambient light colour, phone disconnects and several more. IDrive resets don't make any difference.

Does anyone know what can cause this random behaviour, and things he can try to fix it?

What software version is he running?

Assume hes using the same key and the key is linked to the account in the car?

I think it's the version before the very latest one. Like many others he hasn't yet received notification of the latest update - I was lucky, I got the update fairly soon after its release.
He uses the same key, he's replaced its battery and it's linked to his Connected Drive account.

First thing I’d do is have the latest software flashed to the car - 07/2024 at a dealer or if he’s out of warranty there are plenty of people that can use ISTA to flash the latest version.

If that’s still not fixed it it’d need some further error code reading and go from there.

9/10 times a software flashed fixes issues like that.
