Im hoping by the end of the year ill be able to pull the trigger on an order.

I spoke with them 3 weeks ago and they had an allocation in september. They have pretty frequent allocations with their volume so that nice.
If it's who I think it is, they're trying to put an increase on my already agreed-on price because of their negligence. They forgot to put a fee in the offer and I accepted. Too bad. Hopefully the deal doesn't go south. Car is awaiting transport.

Stick to your guns. You wouldnt get to walk if they dont drop the price (without losing your deposit). Why do they get to increase it? They need to eat it. They agreed to a price.

They told me twice, with written proof, that my deposit is 100% refundable. They want to increase it because they forgot a fee, but I’ll not having it. However, it would be such a shame to lose the car on this given the rest of the offer was competitive.

Maybe they’re banking on this since they said we’ll see once the car arrives what they’ll do about the difference.

Car dealers are unfortunately car dealers. When I started poking around in July on the BMW website, there was a "value your trade option". I put in the data for my car (2021 540i xDrive 33K miles) and got a 35,500-39,500 valuation.

When I went to the dealer to purchase, they took my car to have it looked at (it's pristine - I have a high attention to detail based on career choice) they came back with a contract with a 33,500 trade value. I pointed out that the value I got online was considerable higher AND showed them their listing on their lot for a 2021 540 w/o 5K of options mine has with 39K miles for $43,900. I wanted the M440 so I didn't push hard and asked them to come up 2K on the trade which they did.

They would have course taken the extra 2K if I wasn't prepared. I also didn't push as I'm driving my nice 540 for almost 3 months before I give it to them in trade and I figure that's worth at least 2K in value.

Just be prepared, be reasonable and let them know in a nice way that you're not playing games. As I've mentioned earlier, I got 8.8% total off my new M440 GC. Said a different way, I'm paying less for this 2025 M440 than I paid for my 2021 540i !

I'm pretty happy!!

I’m not necessarily upset on the deal that I got, but I am upset on the random charge that was added on. They’re blaming it that it was for a different build, but that is not the case.

They said to just wait until the car arrives and they’ll see what they can do with the difference. I’ve pushed them to resolve it now, but they keep saying to wait.

Not sure what I’ll do at this point. It is going to be a beautiful car. But, I’m not going to accept this charge on principle.

Destination. But, it wasn’t on the offer I signed and that they accepted.

Destination/shipping is one of the few fees the dealer can’t do much about, since it is a standard factory charge. However, I’m also a little skeptical about them saying at the last minute that they “missed” or “forgot” it, since every car has it. Sounds like more of a ploy to get additional profit at the last minute.

And that's the issue. I know it's a standard charge, but if you don't put it in the offer...which I ultimately accepted...not my problem. Too bad for the dealer.

Here's my deal. I may have got hacked for $496 on the doc prep fee, but at some point, they have to make some $$$.

You can't grind so much that there's no metal left to sharpen IMO.

Whenever I went in for issues that may have been outside of warranty, it was handled quickly and w/o its and I was always given a loaner car. That relationship is worth something.

As a jewelry retailer, we get guys that grind out of sport. Who do you think we give the best price to? The guy who grinds every last dollar out of the deal or a customer who has shown loyalty?

It's not different in the car biz. I had to walk away once from my dealer as they were playing the price game, but I've purchased 4 cars from them since 2008. They are smart enough to know that they want my biz and they stay competitive.

I'm sure I could have ground the for a few $$$ more, but I can afford the price as listed and I see it as a win win!

Does that sound right? Seems weird.
Completely false information. I've never bought a car off the lot and I've never paid at or above MSRP.

I've gone as far as Maryland from New York when dealers played hardball to get a fair deal - great way to get to meet my new m340i for a few hours 🙃

2 cars were European delivery at 7% total off MSRP.

I built my car online and told them to give me an out the door price. I countered and got 3.5% off the OTD price. Not as good as some of the deals I have seen but still below MSRP, so I am happy with it.

Nice. Curious to know your dealer location? Two major dealers in Colorado say they have “no haggle” pricing. Any way around this?

Welcome to the forum. Yes, go to another dealer or use a broker. See what Scott at Insight smithf80 can do for you. Often the discount brokers can provide more than make up for their fees and any shipping costs.

Loveland. They never mentioned any such policy to me. Maybe because I’ve been a customer for 10 years, and my father picked up a used 330 a couple weeks prior.

Thought I would chime in here as I was in the same boat before placing my 2025 330i M SPORT factory order. I live in the DMV area and I was able to get 11% off MSRP between dealer discounts and incentives. Also locked in at 2.99% financing.

MSRP: $58,500
I got it for $52,200 plus taxes tags fees

So yes, it is possible, just need to be patient and play hard to get.

Would you mind sharing what dealer you used? I'm in the DMV area and am trying to order an M340i Xdrive.

Don’t mind at all, though I wouldn’t expect much of a discount on the M340i. I was toying with the idea of getting one but found there was much more wiggle room with the 330i.

It’s the Fairfax BMW location in Virginia. I’ve been dealing with James, and I’m sure he hates me at this point. Haha.

Just placed my custom order with Ben. Quick and easy negotiation, with a fantastic discount on a 550e. Thanks for the recommendation!

For anyone still shopping, the target is around 6% off MSRP before incentives. If you're in a big city and nobody wants to play ball, look for dealers in smaller cities in your region.

I would say aim for 10% off MSRP but 6% off MSRP should be lowest anyone should be paying on custom build.

Would agree, shoot for 10% and land on 8% for a good deal. 6% is about the bottom. That said, keep in mind that the discounts vary by location, dealer and timing so in some areas 4% may be a great deal. At that point one has to decide if the extra savings is worth expanding the search area or engaging a broker.
