Hey,

I got BMW M340 LCI (2022) and do not see video unlocking option in bimmercode
There is just one - enable video over USB (but no speedlock off or related).
Is is because I got a free version of bimmercode? Wrong cable (ENET)? Or simply it's locked in my BMW? Please advise.

BTW in Windows 11 simply press F2 on selected file to change a name and replace .mp4 with .mp3 - works like a charm

If you are on an Apple iPhone, from what I've been told, Video In Motion cannot be done. I have a 2022 M340. Has nothing to do with any version of Bimmercode you use.

I've coded lots of stuff myself with Bimmercode.
I went to an expert coder, to do something not available with Bimmercode, and he told
me that the only way to enable VIM with an iPhone was to jailbreak the phone itself.

This was awhile ago, and have not read anything to date, that changes anything.

The Headunit MGU is locked on 8.5+ so you cannot remove speed lock. You are limited to watching videos only in Park.

With iDrive 8 you can code speed lock off in the Headunit MGU via bimmercode/bimmerutility.

Download whatever .MP4 video your heart desires. Once it is downloaded, move it over to the usb you plan to use in your BMW.

Change the .mp4 file type to .mp3 by renaming the extension. On MacOS this is pretty straightforward. It asks “Are you sure you want to use this extension type” Click .mp3 again.

This tricks the headunit into playing a .mp4 video as a .mp3

On Windows I have not found a way to rename the extension currently while keeping it a .mp4. If you actually convert the .mp4 to .mp3 you will lose the video aspect.

Calvindubois - can you suggest how you've made a changes through bimmercode ? I do not see in a headunit section any option related to speedlock off I am using ENET cable ( I belive it's ENET - from one side it connects car from second it has RJ45 connected to laptop by simple ETH->USBc interface +Android tablet)

I don't know which setting it was..
but in Headhunt I went to Expert mode and searched for "speed lock"

I disabled every single one and now I can watch VIM

false alarm...

the video will still play while in D or R or N, but once you go 3 MPH or faster the video disables and audio only...

we need to figure out how to enable VIM since holding the iDrive controller forward and Media/home/Media doesn't do anything

Saw some videos on YT that some people have it working - in the comments someone mentioned about external modules. At the end I do not care if it's a change made through Bimmercode or external module :/ Any ideas about "external" non software solutions ?

This guy doesn't have CarStream, you can clearly see that it's the id8 menu.
