AA Downpipe M340i - Newbie Question

Just installed the AA DP on my 2023 340i.
Bought it 2nd hand and sound is AMAZING imo.
I only have 2 questions:

1. Is it normal that my fuel consumption has dropped drastically? Not that I care but just wanna find out if it’s normal. It’s about a 10% drop. Not sure how you guys normally count it but I’m getting 14l/100km.

2. Prior to installing the DP I noticed it showed Proto on it but I installed in nevertheless. Anyone got the same as me?

I think it shows B58-PROTO-can’t see.

You sure the increased fuel consumption is not just you with a heavier foot chasing those highs?

DP will make ZERO difference to fuel consumption. Unless it is blocked or damaged and restricting flow - very unlikely.

Your right foot is the primary variable

+1

The downpipe will make zero difference on MPG, but if you are driving the car more aggressively now to enjoy the better exhaust sound, we dont blame you, but that's going to lower your MPG

No I get you. I'm not saying I don't have a heavy foot.
What I mean is I tested driving "normally" and it definitely is showing increased FC.
I'm not comparing driving normally to driving spiritedly lol.

Hmm that's really strange.
I know you're the expert here 100%, but I'm comparing driving normally to now and before.
Even when driving aggressively on my stock DP, I'm not getting the levels of FC I'm currently getting driving normally.
Hence I'm wondering is it because the DP I have is "Proto-type maybe?" that's affecting this.

Sounds insane that's for sure.
I got it paired with an MPE which I think another fellow forummer has.

Trust me I thought so too.
But I'm comparing driving normal - normal.
Not driving normal before - driving aggressively now.
Doesn't make sense to compare apples to oranges

Downpipe will make zero difference, zero, to fuel consumption. Cannot say it any simpler.
