Non-Voidable Mods
Hi everyone,
I recently joined the BMW family with a lightly used 2022 M340i and wanted some advice on mods that won’t void my CPO warranty. Later on, once the warranty is up, I’ll look into more serious mods like full bolt-ons (FBO), E85, etc. For now, I’m curious about the dealership’s stance on mods like suspension setups (coilovers), custom intakes, exhausts and downpipes (which I assume would void the warranty). Also, any recommendations for mods that can improve performance but won’t risk the warranty? The car feels pretty restricted under load, almost like it’s on a constant rev limiter. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! |

There are several threads on this, each multiple pages long; I recommend you search for them and read them for answers.
In summary, no mod will void your warranty. But if a mod caused damage to your car, the dealership will not fix it for free. i recommend you get high-quality quality, proven mods, and the warranty will not be an issue

In short, no mod with flat out void your warranty, however BMW are a bunch of assholes and will basically blame any problem on anything aftermarket to the car if there is any issues. At the end you might be able to escalate it to bmw, but you’ll always have some type of head ache when trying to get warranty work on a modded car.

Personally, I would just stick to an easy to remove mod such as an intake.
