Strut Tower Braces

The engine compartment of my new M440 has two cheap looking OEM Strut Tower Braces.

Thinking of replacing them with theses;

https://www.dinancars.com/products/s...arts/D180-0013

Has anyone else done this and what did you use if so?

Thanks!

It's an easy installation, direct swap on the 4-series because you already have the threads at the front support structure (M340 does not, need to use a bolt with a nut from underneath).

A bit expensive for 2 bars but without springing for the CPM stuff I think its the best looking solution on the market.

CPM stuff?

Will I need a torque wrench to replace?

Nice and tight. Just don’t over tighten. If that helps any. Going to need to take it off at slow point to change air filter.

Dinan comes with torque specs.

Their website has a pdfs of install directions so you can probably check it out there.

Their website says 15 minute install - but I see nuts. Are those for retrofitting 3 series cars. Do the bolts just bolt down with no nut on the underside for the 4?

If you already have the OEM scaffolding... you just need this setup from Dinan (you reuse your stock bolts).

The other version with the hardware is for the G20 3er that didn't come with OEM braces and threaded strut towers like the 4er.

OK, great! So no nuts needed?

Will the Dinan braces actually improve handling a bit or is that just hype?

Handling difference? No clue. I’d say it’s more of a cosmetic thing. The OEM bracing is pretty gross looking.
