is Adaptive suspension on a G21 worth it ?

Hi folks ..

Toying with the idea of upping from my LCI to an LCI2.

Was in with my dealer on Friday and created my desired build , but as I'm getting older, and possibly upping to 19" run-flats, from current 18" non run-flats on my LCI, I'm toying with the idea of selecting the adaptive suspension option.

So, simply put, is it worth the outlay , and does it give a noticeable smoothness to the ride comfort, especially on 19" run-flats ?

Cheers in advance for any advice

Yes, it's worth it - it's the cheapest option that has effect on how your vehicle rides, what else can be more "worth it'?!!!

I have it on my 330e but, truth be told, it sits in comfort mode 95% of the time. But for that other 5% it’s nice to have it firm up in bends etc.

In comfort, adaptive is still working in the background absorbing the bumps..

There’s a bunch of threads about this on the “main” forum if you want an in-depth read e.g. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?t=1984773. General consensus is yes.

Definitely worth the cost if your going to spec 19” wheels.

Tick it for sure.
Should be Std on higher spec cars frankly.

Totally recommended! I got lucky too and the car was delivered with MPSS4's

The ride is just super smooth even on crap roads (like the M25 concrete section)

I was lucky enough to test drive a 320i with 18s without adaptive and a 320i with runflat 19s with adaptive.

I preferred the 18s/without. I felt the car more natural to drive and have less tyre thump. Adaptive may be better, but not with larger runflats.

I couldn't have adaptive on non-runflat 18s - at least not 2 years ago.
