Oil Change M340 Hybrid

Looks like oil filter housing is a little tough to reach just solely based off of pictures.

Could not find any videos on youtube. Look like some of the purple hybrid wiring is directly above it.

Anyone have any comments? Thx

I know the filter on my 2020 M340i isn't difficult to change.

Yours isn't a hybrid model. The hybrid wiring is all around the oil filter housing. I'm sure you can wiggle it out but was looking for feedback from someone who has done it.

I've done a couple oil changes now on my mild hybrid 2023. It's easy peasy getting the oil filter out. Just wiggle it around any wires in the way. I like to put a rag around the bottom of the housing to catch any drips.

Tools I use are: 27mm socket, 12" long 3/8 extension, 3/8" ratchet.

Thank you, I don't like taking my car to the dealer for any reason. I know oil changes are "free" but not worth the time sitting there, them trying to upcharge me on other crap, etc.

Oil changes on the mild hybrid are honestly very easy to do. Here are a couple of tips: remove the plastic cover in the driver side corner—this will give you more room to move around. Do not, and I mean do not, over-torque the oil cap when reinstalling it. The oil housing unit is plastic and will crack if you over-torque. This is a very expensive fix and won't be covered under warranty if you crack it.
