B58 Idle Tick
This is my first BMW, I know the injectors are extremely loud on the B58s but this is the driver side of the car right on top of the DME cover and it sounds like this

normal. The noise is actually the high pressure fuel pump. Its a bit diesel like.

Sounds like your typical B58. Welcome to owning a BMW! The direct injection is loud, but you'll get used to it. Also, if you have a '21 or newer model, it comes with a mild hybrid system that makes fun noises too.

Our ‘25 m440i Gen 3 B58 does this at idle but disappears after the vehicle is warmed up.
