Hi Folks,

Its actually obvious Q; I plugged & played the M8 Steering wheel into my G80 Conversion project car
So is it possible to replace BMW M8 Centre Console w/G20 centre console?

I have seen some done but not sure if it was X5/X6M or M8. I dont want to buy wrong one

I have seen this mod done to a G30. All the "normal" functions will be working, selecting gears, iDrive controller, start button, parking break etc. All the "special" functione, i.e. gear change speed, M Mode, exhaust button will not be working. I don't know if there were any modifications necessary to the wiring.

As for the physical fitment, I don't know for sure, but looking at pictures of the G20 part, the mounting points seem to be at the same location, so I think it will fit.

If it is just plug and play one would think bmw performance parts would start selling a version with the m style design but all the right buttons for the regular cars

But I assume it will be working for the mods, ESC, camerra, Park assistance, S & S, auto hold and e-brakes

how you select comfort, sport, sport + Sport individual, ec0 and adaptive?? Those buttons do not seem to be here?

That whole panel of buttons is one panel so they can be removed I'm sure but the questions that need to be answered is can the panel be transferred over and made to work in G15's shift unit or would you need to move the G15's gear lever over to the G20's unit.

My question is how hard would it be to splice in something else to those same buttons if they're not going to function as labeled anyway...

How about an update. I have to replace my shifter as the clear plastic is damaged

im thinking of getting the g80 shifter for my g20, i always liked the way M cars have a different way of shifting and in sick of the lci little shifter

Does the shifter really works?
The shift logic is completely different to the G20.
Or does the control center only sends the command (D, N, P, S) to the BDC?

For the drive modes, it could be possible that the buttons trigger the drive modes instead of the G80 functions.
I´m not sure if the buttons really send the function or just a mapping to the BDC.
If it´s just a mapping, e.g. button 3 is pressed, then one could switch the left plate with the G20 or another car with glossy buttons.
