Probably not. I think you could make it fit eventually with heavy mods but these cars already struggle with a 19x9.5 et25. It's not going to be an easy setup to run. I'd recommend contacting the wheel manufacturer you're buying from if you're concerned about fitment.

Hey All,

Trying to keep this thread uncluttered, but our 20" Group Buy is now online. A full thread with a breakdown on what's coming can be found here: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2004650
You can also visit GangUp directly via my signature image.

TL: DR we have the same widths and offsets that we offer as the standard 19" G20 fitments on the way in a 20" diameter as well as the 18" wheels we released earlier. The new wheels are 20x9 ET25 and 20x10 ET38. I don't yet have on-car shots of these wheels as the samples are still en route.

I'm excited to bring more options to this chassis! Thanks for your interest in our wheels!

You and me both.

We're wrapping up a photoshoot with a G20 on our new 20" wheels, but I've attached a quick shot from the shoot before it gets edited. As a reminder you can join the 20" Group Buy that is still ongoing for another 6 days here: 20" Group Buy

wheel specs from this shoot: 20x9 ET25 front, 20x10 ET38 rear. front spacers added to clear Ohlins R&T.

I'd need your order number or email address used in the Group Buy to give you an accurate idea of when it's going to ship. There are a range of ETAs for the wheels in this Group Buy depending on the fitment, finish, and your allocation or place in line for the wheels. We try to make the GangUp ETAs listed on communications as accurate as they can be, but the ETAs can shift. You can DM this account with your info if you'd like an update.

New APEX Forged Wheel Design Survey

Hi Everyone,

With the expansion of the VS-5RS into multiple fitments and 18, 19, and 20” diameters specifically for the G2X 3 and 4 series, we’ve loved seeing APEX wheels on these newer BMW chassis. With that in mind, we’ve been wanting to expand our forged wheel options for these cars, but we need your help identifying your preferred wheel designs and fitments for your chassis.

Edit: This Survey has concluded. Thanks for your feedback!

Please note: this survey is for forged wheels only. We’ll be working on adding flow formed options in the future, but this survey does not include those wheel designs.

Thanks again to everyone who has already provided feedback and/or picked up our VS-5RS or SM-10s!

-Tom and the APEX Team

None planned at the moment. We're focused on fulfilling the orders from the last Group Buy and the new potential designs outlined by the survey results above.

just realized that ET30 comes with wrong bolt pattern for a g20, any chance for the 18x9 ET25 to become available in Satin Bronze?

This is a quick snapshot of the tire clearances around the front suspension although the photo angle isn't quite ideal. The 245/40-19 tire would be narrower and ~8.8mm taller than the wheel and tire pictured there. I think it would clear with most tires on the market but you can see where the lower spring perch will be tight because of the tire. This is one we want to test, but sourcing Michelins currently has been a pain. It's on the to-do list.

You're correct, xDrive cars can run different rim widths and staggered tire sizes as long as the front and rear overall rolling diameters are within a percentage threshold, generally around 1% or less. With that being said, many xDrive owners opt for square fitments for ease of fitment (no tire math), the ability to rotate (better tire life over the set with a proper rotation schedule), and because they aren't rear grip limited like a RWD car typically is.

Yes, the larger diameter can affect gearing and the speedo, but that particular size shouldn't be a major issue as long as tire clearance is good enough to run without rubbing.

Thanks for the feedback! We didn't expect to satisfy everyone with the initial design, but I'm planning on this being the first of multiple options for this chassis. The remainder aren't finalized yet but I would like to add a forged option in the future and more flow formed options as well. Stay Tuned!

Thanks for the kind words! We'll have more details on their availability soon.

-Tom
Please let me know how it's easy to check if spring cover will sit on 245/40/19 or 245/45/18 wheel?

No plans for Bronze in the 18s yet, but its something we may consider if we need to order more of them in the future. If they become extremely popular we'll certainly look at adding more finishes.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question. Are you asking about how to check clearances between your suspension and specific tire sizes? We'd need to know the wheels width and offset as well before digging into this, but its also going to be dependant on the tire itself as certain models run wider than others.

Tom, l'm sorry for inconvenient question. lt seems I can measure current gap between wheel and spring cover/strut up front both sides. After that I can make a decision whether or not I can mount bigger wheels I mentioned in my previous question.

You mentioned tire sizes in the previous question, not wheel sizes. If you were to mount 245/45-18 tires on an 18x9 ET25 wheel and the 245/40-19 on a 19x9 ET25 (wheels of the same widths and offsets with a change in diameter) then the tire heights and sizes would be within 1mm of each other.

With a difference that small in measured sizing, differences between tire models and sizing is going to have more variance than the sizes or wheels. If you're looking to use those tires on our APEX wheels, the notes from our fitment guide apply. Some tire models that run wide might contact the front suspension, but that contact isn't likely with most street-oriented tires.
