Interesting how those of us that actually like this design are downright vilified and insulted over our taste.

Not cool, these days, to be a minority within the BMW group...

This is the worst looking car I have seen in years. Front grills are an abomination and tail lights don't work at all. Long time BMW customers have bought BMWs over the years for several reasons, but one of them is the consistency of BMW's conservative designs and continuity in BMW's design language. This model breaks with all of that and fails miserably. There is no way I would consider buying this car even if the driving dynamics were flawless. It is just too ugly.

Can't wait until Monday when they take this thread off the main page so I do not have to see a picture of this car anymore.

Anyone newish to the brand loves the new design older owners hate it. I guess I will just remain silent from now on as I respect your choice as my young trainee colleague thinks the radical design is the only reason he is going to buy bmw!.
I want BMW to succeed. I need their services warranty and goodwill
I guess we got off on a wrong start, so let's just start over, shall we?

Yeah, I seem to see that a lot of young, new BMW owners seem to like the new styling very much.
Although I'm not sure I would consider myself to be part of that demographic, given that I have always had BMWs around at least.

My parents have owned BMWs exclusively since their E28 5-series, and I've driven a couple of them at least.
So even though my first owned BMW is my current 430i, I've been a BMW fan for quite a while.
enjoy your purchase and good luck! Hope if this succeds they don't use it as an excuse to give us even bigger grilles

Depends on the colour, I'd say.
Usually I'd go for a blacked out grille on bright colours, and a lighter grille (like cerium) on a darker colour because they contrast with each other very well.
Yes, absolutely what I do as well. Makes for a lovely contrast. However the amount of *bling* on that over-sized grille is way too much! Light color or otherwise; it just seems overpowering and steals from the rest of the car.

I can imagine this looking smashing in Sau Paulo Yellow with a blacked out grill. But I don't know what I will do with the blue pictured above, because as is the bling just looks cheap af.

If the F87 only would have HUD. It would be very desirable IMO and the only M-car I could afford. Lol. From my point of view it´s the true successor of the E46C. Not stating that I don´t give the new 4er design a chance. I need to see it in real. The side profile is very close to the F32 with the exception of the modified Hoffmeister Kink and the very front tip. The taillights are a reasonable evolution step from recent models e.g. G15.

Car continues to look like an ugly mess. Ugly coupes and sedans don't make sense in a SUV world.

Just gives them an excuse to axe them off when they don't sell.

The thing I really don't understand is for those who hate the thing, why do you spend so much time stating that fact and going into threads about this car? I just don't get it.

The more I see it the more I like it. Especially that blue exterior and brown interior combo.

Totalling agree. I've driven the M240 and it feels closest to the 3er. I was just hoping that the new 2er (2021?) coupe would look good enough for me to swtich up. I don't want to go backwards and buy an older model. But then again, everything with BMW is backwards these days. Will most likely pull the trigger on a used Lexus LC 500. The design on that car is just out of this world. Either that or a current M2.

Both good choices, in the end will depend on what you want more. M2 is more sports car while LC is more GT car.

If BMW makes a long wheel base version they will sell a ton in markets other than the US.

I don't understand this. Why do we have to "get used to" an ugly assed design and then spend upwards of 80k for it? And it's HUGE!! WTF. May as well by a Tesla if you want performance....because that's about all it has. A HUGE boat that goes fast
