For G22/G82, I tried coding with bimmercode instead and you will not need

LIC_EDGE_CUTTER_RULE_ASSIGNMENT G20_US_code -> G20_ECE_code

i coded everything with Bimmercode for my G82 using the CSL Style Tail Lights with Sequential Turn signals and also the CSL Replica Lights with the Euro Turn both working perfectly - But here's is what I found a lot of the information or coding is somewhat right and wrong - But I figured it out

None of these parameters worked. Using BimmerUtility change car config type to EU -> Save -> VO Code ONLY the rear tail light modules.

It will work!

When I try to VO code the front headlights they throw all sorts of errors, and flash my drls, so I only recommend VO coding taillight modules with new parameters.

If anyone else has a G20, I can just send a copy of my taillights file!

I don’t understand what you mean by change car config to eu, how do I go about and do this? I have an lci I was able to code this in 2020 m340i but I can’t do it in mine

I don't use bummerutility but you need to edit the fa, look for the type code section change to ECE LL then save the fa. Use the fa to vo code the modules.
Its better to look at the differences between stock fa and ECE one and transfer the required manually since vo coding will affect others parameters not only the rear lights.
I can guide you remotely if interested.

Quick Question. I have G22 Canadian version. I have tried to code following the instructions from prior posts, but I got hyper flashing front signal with nothing in the rear. Will not coding LIC_EDGE_CUTTER_RULE_ASSIGNMENT solve this problem? Thanks.

Yea, I would definitely try not coding the edge cutter. I only did the coding changes after I installed lights that have euro turn signals so thats something to keep in mind.

Question would vo coding be 1 module or multiple and which ones?

Only the bdc is in charge of rear lights. So both vo coding and fdl coding is done on BDC only.

It should work but it will change some parameters which might affect other functionalities of the vehicle. The vehicle would still work but mostly light related functions will change. You can try vo coding and see if you can get away with it.

Use BimmerCode & BimmerUtility, or Esys.

Under the BDC Module in expert mode, there are four groups labeled as LaMaster 1-4. The relevant ones are identified by LA1, LA2, LA3.

The values you'll need to adjust are found after the "|" in the lines below:

LA1

C_BLC_PRE_ENA | 1
LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y | AFS

LA2

C_AFS_ECO_LEVEL_3_ENA | 01
C_AFS_ENA | 01

LA3

LUT_AFS_CODRV_HOR | standard/init
LUT_AFS_DRV_HOR | F040_G005_AHL...
C_CLC_CURV_V2 | 23
C_CLC_CURV_V3 | 28
C_CLC_EXT_ENA | 01
C_HBA_DIM_ENA | 01
C_HBA_GFHBA_ENA_V_HI | 3C
C_HBA_GFHB_ENA | 01

There are also four additional codings in the lane assist camera "KAFAS04" which are currently inaccessible with BimmerCode. However, BimmerUtility or Esys is available for these changes.

——

The below adjustments are expected to reduce the auto dim's sensitivity to streetlights and sign reflections, while also tightening the beams. The High Beam Assistant (HBA) should still perform exceptionally well even without these changes.

C_FLA_COUNTRY_WITH_MULTIPLE_REFLECTORS | 01
C_FLA_US_SENSITIVITY_MODE | 00
C_FLA_BS_ENTER_THRESH | 03
C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH | 02

Let me know if you have any questions !
This has been excellent! Coded this the 2nd day I had my car for. Thank you! Are the beams supposed to follow a curve when you turn the steering wheel?

Not when turning the wheel, I notice the matrix high beams sometimes project around a curve, not often though.

Hey I followed this, the cornering lights are working but I'm not getting any tunneling nor are the lights moving when I turn the wheel. Also I couldn't find KAFAS04 on BimmerUtility so I was just wondering where that was? Is it under BDC?

The only reason I see this not working is because I removed S5AP under the VO code with BimmerUtility, I don't know if that affects it.

I updated to 07/2023.53 over the weekend and this solution now prevents my HomeLink controller from working (I used typecode 31FF on a '23 330e). Is this working for anyone else using the current software? The only way I've managed to get HomeLink back is by using the stock 39FF typecode.

Did you VO Coded the BDC module with the EU FA? Try just VO Coding BDC CAFD5665 with the EU FA.

Like some of you, I dislike the function of the turn-signals in our NA tail lights and I really missed the brakeforce and rear fog lights I had coded into my 435iX.

So like some of you, I tried to FDL code the BDC_BODY to behave like the ECE tail lights but I could not discover how the tail lamp LEDs are physically and logically referenced/mapped. Without the mapping, it would be next to impossible to figure-out.

I then came across a posting by greekcs on side-marker delete (by changing the typecode to ECE and VO coding the FLM2s). I did not care to delete my side markers but I was curious to see if it would work. To my surprise, it worked.... on the F32 platform, this method would cause the turn-signals to hyperflash.

So that gave me the idea of doing the same thing with BDC_BODY.

1) I compared the US and ECE versions of all BDC CAFD files and note the differences between the US and ECE parameters that I did not want to change. See below...

7083 NFC_KEY_VALD_LONG 5min
7083 NFC_KEY_VALID_WINDOW_OPEN 20sec
7083 PF_SZT_LIN_VAR nicht_aktiv
7083 RCI_HF_FREQUENCY wert_04
7083 RCM_DEFAULT_IDG_4TH_BUTTON_LONG Wert_03
7083 RCM_PANIC_ALARM aktiv
7083 RCM_PANIC_ALARM_3TIMES aktiv
7083 UGDO_COUNTRY USA
7083 VAM_CCM_COOLANT_TEMP aktiv
7083 WW_FRONTWASCHEN_VIA_SRA_OUTPUT aktiv

2) I edited my FA Typecode to ECE, VO Coded BDC_BODY and FDL Coded the parameters I noted in 1) back to the US values.

3) I then added back my BDC Cheat Codes and custom FDL Coding.

Guess what... it worked.... Brake lamps are no long functioning as turn-signals and the rest of the tail lamps (parking, turn, back-up) appear to function properly in both outer and inner assemblies.

I still need to test brakeforce (I want all three brake lamps to flash). FYI, my tail lights did not come with LED ICs soldered onto the Fog lamp PCB.

Please note in my experience, the brightness/lumenous output for turn-signals and parking lamps are lower for ECE than NA so these lamps in the rear will not be as bright as the fronts unless you follow greekcs' method for side-marker delete.

Edit: Tested brakeforce when it got dark outside. Brakeforce appears to be working properly i.e. all 3 brake lamps are blinking.

Larry
Hello! Your instructions were very helpful, but I ran into a problem that when switching to ECE, the passenger buttons for opening and closing the doors stop working. I found information that you need to switch the parameter in BDC: 3504 SafeMech, OF ->
CLI_CLW_PSD_ASSEMBLED > aktiv_CLW, but I don't have that. Maybe you know a solution to the problem?

What vehicle are you coding; what tool(s) are you using; and what are you trying to accomplish?

If you are trying to code EU tail lights, see post#282. This method is much easier and does not require any additional FDL coding (if using Esys) compared to the method I originally used in the post you referenced.
