When it first came out the grille looked naff as it goes up into the bonnet. Still not the best design but I think they look good now and I love my m340i looks, mean but understated as a be should be.
Personal opinion but I think all black grilles look naff on the g series as just makes them look too big but the matt celerium on the m340 look great. Conversely I had a black grille on my old 340i as it suited it. Black wheels do them no favours either as make the wheels look small. Again just my opinion!

I always thought #3 and #4 here from the top (not sure which model designations) looked like Honda Civics of the same time period--especially the rear end. Ugly.
