I got my car delivered allready with the update in feb 2020. when i ordered my m340i in dec 2019... there was no such update!
between ordering and delivery the european union changed laws and restrictions. in both videos you hear the mhd burble tune.
only difference is the downpipe…

The software change was to protect the longevity of the OPF. I fear running a hi flow cat into the OPF will drastically reduce the lifespan of your OPF.

Possibly not an issue for you, depending on how long you keep the car for.

For me personally, it's still way better to remove the noise killing OPF.

thats not correct don, i did some Research and triggered a collective complaint in Germany. at the end 20 participants were formed and i've send the write to the m GmbH and BMW itself. the reply clearly explained the reason for the update. the changes are justified by new emission restrictions. it is not only about consumption emissions but also noise emissions. the opf is not as sensitive as the stock downpipe…
