07/2024.30 is available for idrive 7. I applied it to my 2023 g30.
There is mention of changes as regards legislation for the HUD. Not noticed anything in menus yet that’s changed , and nothing obvious whilst stationary but will find out for sure at the weekend when it’s driven. Seeing others not noticing anything as regards the HUD that they have seen. Maybe idrive 8/8.5 is different , don’t know. |

Nothing yet on the BMW app, and I'm on the same 11/2023.50 build that you are on. The last time I was offered the update within a day or two of release, but not this time. I am wondering if me not extending my Connected Drive with a "Connected Booster" pack is why, but AFAIK I "should" still be offered ID7 updates, just not the MAP ones as I did not extend that option either. Hoping to get it cheaper in the Black Friday sales when that comes around. In my Connected Drive is does still say "Remote Software Upgrade - Active" Though Last edited by The_Tok'Ra; 09-06-2024 at 04:00 PM.. |

Software upgrades are not linked to Connected Drive status these days (they did used to be though) as it’s now a separate free add-on. My Connected Booster is active but no upgrade for me yet either. I’m guessing it’s just a slower rollout this time for some reason.

My 2023 G20-LCI 330i upgraded to 07/2024 last week.
No noticeable changes, except as expected it wiped out my coding options. Only difference with this update was that it never appeared on the car as an option, it appeared on the iPhone MyBMW app - and had to be downloaded there before being transferred to the car whilst driving. All the previous updates have been direct to the car - I never involved the iPhone, didn't need to. Regards, Mike. |

I always maintain the subscription so I was happier when this was a service I was paying for not one that was being provided free. |

Having had OTA software updates on my current car and my previous one (both G22s and both with MHT) it does seem to be that the updates are released in batches so as not to overload BMW(UK)s servers (presumably against VIN numbers) as there have been many occasions when other folks have had their updates often weeks before my notifications have come through.
They have always been on the 'MyBMW' app and I've downloaded to that and then uploaded to the car. I'm assuming (and I know that's dangerous as per the movie 'Under Siege 2' when the classic qoute was "assumption is the mother of all f*ck ups"!) but it does seem to follow on from my personal experiences. I've mentioned before on here in the past that I never get too excited over or concerned by, getting or not getting updated software because if the car is performing as expected and nothing appears untoward then is it not best to just leave things alone? The old maxim 'if it ain't broke then don't fix it'. I appreciate there are others who like to have the latest version as it may have introduced additional features that were not present at the time of purchase and they may well be 'must haves' or 'nice to have' but from my experience the addition of 'new features' tends to be quite limited and not exactly ground breaking. Let's face it BMW (and most other manufacturers as well) would much rather you upgrade your car to a newer model to get the new innovative groundbreaking features and whilst that makes perfect financial sense to them it just provides us with financial headaches, a whole lot of 'man maths' and a potential whole world of pain from our other halves! |

Like everything these days as technological advances become more rapid and frequent, 'older' legacy systems receive little attention and quickly become somewhat outdated. It's all part of the relentless drive to get us all to update to the newest version but unfortunately the frequency of change is in the most part financially unattainable unless you have a money tree in the garden, mine's a chestnut so I'm buggered!

Mine is a M340D MHT June 2021 build (with HUD) and I've not had the update or option yet to download.

I was notifiedthe update was available earlier, and I have just installed it. Judging by the message in the MyBMW app when the installation had completed, the only change is to fix a compliance issue with the HUD.

Post the software upgrade the spotify in car app has been exhibiting some weird behaviour.
I start the car and music via the app starts to play ok as normal. After my iPhone connects to the car via CarPlay the music stops playing and the car audio source changes to the Spotify CarPlay app with the same track but in a paused state.I then have to switch the source back to the car Spotify app for the music to resume. This can happen quite a few times in a trip and I’ve found the only thing that seems to resolve this is leaving the display on the Spotify app. Just wondering if anyone else has also experienced this.

Happens to me frequently with CarPlay / Amazon music. I'm quite happily listening to Test Match Special and all of a sudden the car decides I want to listen to a track on Amazon music I was listening to two weeks ago. It's a bit crap. And annoying.

Interesting so may not be linked to the upgrade then. When out today and it all worked as expected bloody car can’t make up its mind.

I find it also skips to a track behind from where I left mid-song if I park and leave the car then return some time later, but oddly if I hit pause before getting out rather than letting the door open stop it, it resumes from exactly the point I paused it. I also find the HUD scrollwheel will be highlighted over one track but select an entry up to about 3 above/below... |
