Nah, we've beaten that horse to death, LOL. The only thing I'll mention is that no one has a choice. Physical buttons are gone on luxury cars and they're never coming back.

So, sad though it may be, either get used to it or buy a dozen 2023's and a big garage as that'll be the only way to get in a 3 or 4 Series without an LCD cockpit for the rest of your life.

Part of the reason I’m keeping my 2022 G26 for a while. Having the AC buttons is super nice, and iDrive 7 is dead simple to use.

I think screen centric stuff will continue with most manufactures, including BMW, but it will be nice to have at least fan, AC controls in buttons.

There is a bit of a push from safety ratings agencies like NCAP to bring back physical buttons to get top safety rating. There are other luxury brands that still have buttons, Porsche being a very obvious one. If buyers want physical they can certainly still get it, just not much choice if you want BMW (outside of the 8 series and Z4 which are still on id7).

Exactly! My next car is more likely to be a Porsche than a BMW. I am not brand loyal. I know what I want out of a car and I simply buy the car that gives me what I want at the time I am buying.

Currently I am on idrive 7 - if I had to buy a car today, it wouldn't be BMW, not with idrive 8.

BMW need a vast, vast improvement on their dash before I consider it. The number one thing they need to do like right now, is add a TON of customization on the dash. A WHOLE range of different layouts with the ability for the user to configure each layout to have exactly what they want and none of what they don't will go a big, big way to making it usable. Right now idrive 8 I hate - that screen is just cheap and the graphics and layouts available are just horrible.
