Im not sure : my car also shakes the steering wheel when you change lane without the indicators so I thought that would be lane change warning - though maybe lane assist ? All these changes keeps us guessing (and paying ).

At least the Dutch Reach is in the Highway Code now - not that it helps all the millions of people that haven't looked at it since they passed their test decades ago of course.

Bottom line, despite having all the packs and adaptive cruise (with the radar) in the grill, I didn't select "driving assistant plus" as the configurator says "part of a package" when it isn't. I have lane depature vibration/steering too but no self steering during CC (nor is there 3 cameras in the front of the mirror). I asked the dealer if it can be retro fit but doubt it is.

IMO The configurator needs LOTS of time and attention when using to spec your build and don't assume things (like I did). Honestly FFS :-(

So have you gained the seats but lost the DAP vs your old car?

It seems like there are significant items which used to be either standard fit or included in a pack and are now not. Once you add them back in the list price becomes quite surprising!

The new Audi S5 looks like a bargain in comparison, it might also be 70k but everything is standard fit except the paint or a towbar and there are already discounts of over £10k. It also has the upgraded leather as standard, which BMW now won't offer on the M340i at all and instead charge £1300 for the normal leather?

I really don't know what BMW are doing. My M340i is a fantastic car but I cant imagine wanting to pay £70k for one with a sensible (but not full!) specification.

I wonder how many M340i they sell these days compared to 2021/2022.

not specific to the M340i, but the data for the manufacturer is here

https://www.smmt.co.uk/vehicle-data/car-registrations/

they've lost about 1% of market share this year, but have sold about 17000 more cars than last year.

So the accountants at BMW UK are probably thinking their pricing is ok given the sales increases. unfortunately

Yep! 🙄

However, iDrive 8.5, the updated interior, new
design wheels with no RFT plus flat bottom steering wheel make up for it! 👍🏻

I gave the dealer some feedback as well!!

I found the same issue, I asked the dealer to spec the car with every option possible bar the below.

Sunroof
Toward
Heated steering wheel
Crystal controls

Mine has also turned up without the driving professional option.

It’s my fault I never checked the specifications when they sent it to me it said driving assistance plus or something so I thought that was it 🫣

I don’t know how you’re both so chilled about it, I’d be absolutely raging! If I ordered a car and asked for everything or near on as you mentioned, then I’d expect that, especially for the price.

As it’s been said so many times, why they’ve made the configurator like it is puzzles me! Surely Tech plus and comfort plus was easy for the manufacturing line, now with all different options it can’t be as simple even in production

Couldn't help myself looking out of interest. The data set df_VEH0160_UK available here https://www.gov.uk/government/statis...ics-data-files shows the sales for 12 month periods to 30 June are

M340i - 2021/2/3/4 = 1,705 / 1,223 / 1,332 / 889

M340d - 2021/2/3/4 = 1,025 / 1,054 / 862 / 882

Well said

I’ve got the new A5/S5 on my list alongside the M340i/d.
The Audi comes out £50k after discount for 2.0
Or it’s £61k for fully loaded S5 Avant with discount.

It’s not something to ignore, but I still love BMW!! Sitting on the fence watching Autotrader at the moment. When I jump, it will be for a 25 reg whichever one for March.

I think it goes to show you have to be very much on the ball and before you order check and check and then check and after the order re-check i did not check closely enough like I said I thought the driving assist was the package but got this wrong, just had to let it go in the end, I was not charged for it, and I got everything g I really wanted and the seats are the most important if I am honest I love them lol.

Just looked at the config, and cant help but feel that I really got lucky with the last of the LCI1's.

Mine has individual paint (not the half fat individuals that can be optioned on the configurator) and it has almost all options (except annoyingly not the M Sport seats). The same car would now be £79k!

Madness!

Amazing.. my M340i touring came out at 77.7K on the new config - I have an LCI with every option except towbar and the special seats… picked up for £53k with 3200 miles on it March last year from local dealer. New prices have gone nuts.

Christ on a bike! I know there's discounts to be had out there but still, £77.7k

Except for the carbon and ceramic packs, I got a mildly 'moved about the dealership' M3 Touring for less than that!! There were a few with frozen paint, ceramic AND with less than 2k miles when I was searching for a G81 for less than that as well.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, the G81 but £77.7k for a 340i, just no!

Who is offering big discounts on the Audi please?

I have spec'd a 340i to 70k and had quotes online though the "usual suspect" at 57k

Keen to hear whats available from the 5 ring people

Thanks in advance

Although i have just recieved in October my 2025 M340i i did have a look at the new S5 while in a Audi showroom doing some work, and tbh i think it looks very plain on the outside, the inside is very nice though, i am glad i went for the M340i, but of course each to their own, although in two years time when the M350i comes out that may sway me over to the Audi S5 if the next 3 series is anything like the rest of the BMW designs that are coming out, i keep seeing the new % series on the roads and i just do not like it one bit.
