My mom just grabbed me a bottle of this on her way back from Ireland. Anyone had any? Any good? Haven't opened it yet.

i like it. drinks well on the rocks. the additional aging in charred bourbon barrels definitely gives it a much different flavor vs the regular jameson. it’s a pretty good value compared to something like redbreast 12-yr or green spot which go for twice the price of black barrel.

sláinte!

Black barrel seems like a new, enjoyable trend? That black barrel Hornitos is pretty dang sipping good!

And?

Somebody brought a chilled bottle of Corralejo Blanco to turkey dinner. There was nothing to take home. I'd never had before, wasn't too bad. I see they have an anejo, which I might prefer.

Really Good! Smooth just like I insist on. Dark fruits. Oily. Full finish. Very approachable. Not at all smoky, also what I prefer. Solid for its price and interesting.

I saw Basil-Hayden had a "toasted" bourbon last night, but didn't pick up a bottle.

Anyone?

Absolutely Delicious! And a little goes a long way. I've had incredible Old Fashioned from different restaurants and bars. Some were very meh while some, so tasty! It's definitely a wonderful drink but especially during this time of year.
I believe what truly elevates this mixer is the cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and orange bitters. Oh the cherry too.

Those are so tasty. According to the ingredients, it's Cherry Juice concentrate. But tasty indeed.

I bought those two on special at lunchtime. I never had those brands before. Any opinions?

You need to mix that Jose with something, to hide the taste.

if you dont go with a full-blown margarita or paloma, any lime or grapefruit soda goes well with most tequilas. i know people that use sprite or 7up but those are too sweet for my tastes. fresca is a pretty great tequila mixer right out of the can.

Bad and even worse...

An American corn vodka which should strictly be used for mixing... don't drink it straight and next time go for the ever so slighly more expensive Ketel One which for $19 is a mighty fine Vodka that is super smooth.

Jose... almost no one should be drinking that ... it became the world's most popular tequila by being first and the absolute cheapest. Try Cazadores for $19.99... which is only 1 level above but much better than Jose.
