That being said BMW was a company who struggled heavily prior to the 1600/2002 and that car really put them on the global radar of great carmakers. Stuff like the E21, E30, and E28 really put them on the map as a true player. Anything that came after was just adding to that legacy...not making it from scratch... IMO the joined grille is the most iconic and most fitting association to the success of the brand. Surely others can disagree... I think people getting outraged over the joining of the grille is ridiculous though....

7->5->3...All look same....this is so lame. All these series used to have some individual character of their own..now all are same.

That Touring though...
The wife and I could stop discussing what 3rd low mileage vehicle to lease next if that became available here. I want the G20, but unfortunately we need a hatch in the back for a dog crate and overall utility. I refuse to get another SUV and BMW X4/X6 is too expensive for what is essentially still an SUV underneath. Probably going to end up with a Volvo V60, but I so would love to have a G21 in RWD configuration instead. Why BMW, why??!

This is a very nice evolution, and I like the merged grilles. (I like them the most on the M2).
What I don't care for is the headlights touching the grills, especially in this protruded style similar to the M5. They just feel so bulbous and unrefined. I MUCH prefer the headlights on the M2, X3, etc. It won't keep me from buying the car but.... I still want to have an X3 M40i + (next gen) Z4M instead. |

So agree with you. Chris Bangle FTW, as much as everyone bagged on him he really defined his time and did a great job distinguishing the difference series. I saw an e60 m5 on the road today and man do they still look muscular! E46 best looking M of all time!!

To be fair, the S4 is a great car. As is the C43.
