G22 4 Series in Sapphire Black

This car is having the reverse effect on me. Usually a car slowly grows on me. I was actually very excited when it was in camo, even with the large grilles exposed. But now, the more I see it, the uglier it gets. The more I see it, the more apparent it gets how they royally screwed up the final production car.

I think of all the awesome BMW Films produced like The Hire, Star, and The Escape......and then there is this crap! So cheesy. I'd rather go to the dentist than watch this again.

Ahahaha this is actually one of the first things that struck me when they revealed the grills. It's the front radar with the grill pattern just... printed over it.

I get what they're going for - as a big black box disrupting the grill pattern would've been even uglier. But this... heh, I dunno.

Since when do you introduce a new car or a new girlfriend by presenting its backside first?! Seriously! Even when they are talking in the car, they are purposely cutting off the nostrils of the car, and also when they eventually show the front, they are purposely standing in front of it as to hide its hideousness. Disappointing fail! Using camera angles, vertical video, all the tricks to hide the failure!

Love how they show the old Bimmer with the extremely vertical grills.

I can't understand a word they're saying here, but I'm guessing it's something like, "See, if you were to put these old grills on the 4er, it would look even shittier yet, so just count your blessings and get over it."

They are following the latest trend from social media mobile apps (Instagram, TikTok, Periscope, Snapchat...) that are increasingly designed to be viewed vertically even for videos. Not necessarily bad per se, especially with mobile screens getting ever larger and higher def, but it does look out of place on YouTube which isn't designed that way and it definitely is unsuitable for viewing cars which are by definition long horizontal things as opposed to human beings.

They started with the rear which actually looks like the S5 rear. than avoided the grille most of the video. It is going to be a long 7 years for the G22.
