Just updated mine, very disappointed. Where I live, Speed limit info and speed limit sign locations remain unchanged since November 2020 when I purchased the car. Traffic light location data still remains absent from the database. Until the later is addressed, Driver Assist Professional will never work like it does in parts of Europe & North America

Yeah I have a 2016 440i GC and I have sections of my maps where maybe 500 metres of road is just missing. Thus the maps want to take me on a 150k detor if I am heading North (am in Brisbane). It persisted after this years map update, so I wasnt sure if it was just my car, or the maps.
Is this what you are seeing, or do you just mean some roads are not in the maps? What I have is actual parts of roads completely missing, say a 300 metre stretch, usually at a main intersection. Weird.

Mine is exactly the same heading south from the Gold coast it should be an 860 or 870 km trip to Sydney but once the car calculates the trip it's 1675km not ideal and a little disappointing really |

FYI. The new AUS/NZ 2022-2 maps are ready for download through the map updater app.

Thanks very much! I only did the last update a couple of weeks ago
I hope this one fixes a number of issues I have around Perth, like missing road junctions which are years old now, incorrect speed limits, and just generally weird route directions compared with Google Maps or the navs in my other cars. Still, the nice lady remains unfailingly polite when I get grumpy with her ... EDIT: I tried to download it this afternoon but it's not showing up for me. My suspicious mind wonders if that's because I only have 3 days of my current Maps subscription left and it's trying to force me to renew it .... Last edited by Gaviatrix; 10-31-2022 at 02:20 AM.. |

Would be good to get an email or some sort of notification rather than having to periodically run the download manager thing on a PC, or find out incidentally on this forum. Very antiquated. Interestingly it does appear some international regions do have over-the-air map updates, not sure why we're lagging behind. |

Ancillary data to support driver assist functions (speed limit signs/location used in Anticipation still not updated nor is traffic light location data included despite myself and probably many other owners allowing BMW to collect this data for free and use it to improve their product. Will definitely not be extending my subscription for these updates after my complimentary 3 year subscription expires. In my opinion probably better off using Google or Apple maps

So .... my cynicism was right. My maps subscription expired yesterday - several days after others had posted that they could download new maps. I checked right up to yesterday afternoon - no new map available. This morning I paid a new annual subscription - and hey presto! New map available. That's really slack. I shall be remonstrating with BMW about it - not that it will do any good, but using up their time will make me feel better

Speed limit info seems to have been fixed/updated along my usual route with the latest update. Paid $89 for another year… probably not worth it but I hate not having the latest and brightest. 😂
On a different note, thinking about changing over to an iX1 next year. 🤔 |

For a manual update you need to install the Download Manager on a computer and have a look through that.

I was delighted to find I could purchase the map update for just 99c
I had to update the BMW Download Manager on my laptop to the latest version, which involved manually deleting the prior version as it didn't automatically overwrite. You need a USB with at least 16GB unused space so I had to go and buy a new one as all mine were too small! |
