Oh, no idea, but I know the previous version of this is the glowing grilles on the X6 I think, which was not an EV. I think its an option Germans sell that some market want and it will be on most models. If it is to distinguish between EV or not EV I dont think, because you dont want to shame your clients one way or the other in driving EV or not EV.
