Let's see if there are any further updates after the test drive for the M340i..
Like previous posters mentioned, test driving with/without those extra options, M Performance options do make a difference, even the tires. Lastly, the M-Performance Exhaust for the m340i just came out. |

I've had the F80 last 1.5 years and used it 90% for every day commute and is an absolute joy. However, would never get it again because it is a different purpose car and I am simply not utilizing a fraction of what it is intended to be... Cannot even be compared to a non-M vehicle |

Is it me or the seats in the G20 are on the narrow side?

I find them to be overall comfortable in the drives of the G20 and G01 X3's I've had. They are definitely bolstered more than competitors like the C-Class or A4, but in the end it honestly depends on your body type/build and comfort preferences. YMMV.

Yes and by a pretty wide (no pun intended) margin. I haven't had enough seat time in the M340i yet to say if they are more or less comfortable than my Audi's (initial thought is that they are better than the Audi's). However I found the IS F Sport seats to be one of the most comfortable seat I've ever sat in (in a sporty type car). Perfectly sized seat bottom and seat backs. Perfect bolsters that would probably fit a wide variety of body types. And just the overall shape! Perfect.

The 3 series seats have that annoying stitching on the bottom that, at least for me, is the culprit to their lack of comfort.

While I do like that you can inflate the bolstering in the G20, it just doesn't come to the comfort I had with the IS. |

We're all adults here who own BMW's getting rattled at one persons opinion about driving a basic 330i loaner car... and everyone's anxious to see what he feels about a M340... common guys just drop it one guys opinion mean that much to you?? I own a M340 and I love it.. I'm sure we all love our G20's one sour grape should not trigger anyone and this post should not have ended up at this point...I respect the OP's opinion, frankly I don't agree but we all have opinions... I had a F30 before and I can say my M340 feels like a step up in every way.

After test drive of new m850i my own spartan 2006 e90 320d also felt soulless, like driving a brick I have G20 330i as company car now, had e90 320d for past 10 years and put 200000km on it. I am happy with choosing G20 330i, but choosing options again I would opt for M suspension and brakes, 255 rear and maybe LSD as that sport line 330i on 4x225 lacks in rear planting and needs more suspension firmness in corners, its almost as “too much” power for stock suspension. The tech and interior is top-notch. Anyway even that G20 still feels soulless after a day with MT07

I clearly said I would NOT get it again because of what the car is made for, therefore, not exactly for me and my use. Not because of comfort but because I've experienced the true value of the car maybe 4-5 times in 20 months... |
