Exact! I wonder how long I will still be reading this forum and whether I bought my last BMW a year back. I could always perfectly argument the USP of BMW, but they abandoned almost everything that makes this a car a driver's car.
Wrt the dumb ass videos that seem to be directed by a teenage youtuber, I really works on my nerves since it's obvious it's made for another audience.

I dig the advertising.

The grill doesn't look as bad on the convertible for some reason - perhaps with the top down the huge gaping holes in the front are now balanced.

I'll keep my hard top vert. I do like the styling, with top down. Not digging the roof.

I like this much better than the coupe, aside from the ridiculous grille, this is a pretty sexy car and dang, it looks good in green. Something off about the rear quarter panel surfacing on the coupe is fixed here. Also dig the soft top. The hard top packaging forces a less than optimal profile shape, which can be achieved with an easier to package soft top. The e93's always looked compromised with their tops up IMHO.

Black Grill essential

I've never been one for a Blacked out grill, in fact on an E46 the chrome grill was exclusive to 6 cylinder models only. But this 4 series is an exception.

It needs a blacked out grill surround for all paint colours. White cars might just get away with the chrome surround, but on all other colors it is essential.

One last thing - whay have BMW such a poor range of colours

That's a very effeminate look, even by convertible standards. Never did get the whole convertible thing, the complete antithesis of performance imo.

For me the design doesn‘t flow at all. The front end gives it a very nose heavy impression not what you would want for a convertible. I like that they‘ve gone back to the soft top but again it looks a bit boring compared to the design of a F12.

The black on black with the dark grill looks the best to me. I think shadow line with M sport is necessary anymore given these giant grills BMW keeps putting out...And this is coming from someone currently driving an X7.

I think it looks fine in the videos. It will grow on everyone as everything always does.

In the US, can we order a left side driver? Or is that not allowed? Really want a left side driver.

Marketing department beat the exterior design department. Brilliant! Why not put them in charge to design the car?

Just ordered my 430i convertible this week. Also opted for the Performance Center delivery in Spartanburg, SC. Here are some pics of the car I ordered from the build website.
