You confused me, the software update was done Over The Air (OTA) and then the dealer did a sunroof recall?

Or did the dealer do both the software update and the sunroof recall?

As far as I know recalls could not be fixed via Over The Air Updates.

Has anyone received the 03.2022 update on the gas engine cars in NA? I.e. 330, 340, etc with iDrive 7

I have not received any map updates nor remote software updates for awhile now and dealer wants to charge me to do the manual update.

Same here. My 2020 M340i hasn't received an OTA since the 07/2021 upgrade. To add to that, I don't think it's received even a regional map update since I bought it.

I am still stuck on 04.2020 North American, Northeast Regional maps. Here we are more than 2 years later..

I have a 2020 M340; last sofyware update car got was 07/2021.40 -- and that was from dealer. Car has missed 11/2021 & 03/2022 updates OTA. Additionally, the myBMW app says my car has 11/2020.50 -- WTF

Additionally, car had a 2018 map with no updates; again. Dealer updated. At least, here car has received 2022-1 regional updatr

I taking car in to dealer in a couple of weeks to get software updated --- and hopefully, get OTA updates again

I have a 11/2021 manufactured G20 330e in the Hungarian market. Mine was delivered with 07/2021.55 and no iDrive update, only map updates. (Latest map version: Road Map EUROPE Live 2022-2 101032152.3.00, J18_21w31.5-1)
+1 I’ve spotted recently. The iDrive version is not displayed in the My BMW app for me. (The text says: “The latest software version is installed…”. Note the double spaced btw the version and is. For others the version number is displayed there.

My '21 M340 also is on an early 2021 update :/. I have to take it to the dealer to get the air diverter flap(s) fixed, so I can ask them to update it then.

My '19 EU 330i is now on 3/2022 version via OTA. When I bought it a few weeks ago, it was "stuck" on a quite old version that didn't support Android Auto. The dealer had to do a workshop update to get it to a later iStep that supports OTA as otherwise the jump would have been too great (dealer's words, not mine). Perhaps something for people to look into whether they are stuck on a level that's very old?

It won't do. Remote updates run a version behind the latest available at the dealer historically.

22-03 was the exception as there was an urgent need to push it to for those with the headunit revision that came without Wi-Fi from the factory

Hi, i have 330d 2019 edition and i am on 2021.11 software version. in my bmw app and also in the car no matter how many times i tried to search for update it says i am uptodate. And here you people are saying 2022.07/ 03 is available. i have warranty till October 2022. why am i not seeing the update yet ? should i go to Dealer to get it updated ??

As I understand it they will only update you if there is a problem with your car. Mine is on 2021/07 from the last OTA

I had to get my '21 M340 updated from 7/2021.50 to 3/2022.71 at the dealer. I had it in to fix an A/C problem, and the dealer said that the software update was there to fix the issue (it didn't). So, they called the regional technicians to discover that there is another update coming very soon, say in a week or two, that is supposed to resolve the A/C problem and other issues. I'll update everyone on the version when I get it.

To add, my A/C issue is when I have the A/C on Auto mode, I never felt the footwell area get any cooler - only the main cabin. So I toggled from Auto to just the feet and noticed that warm(ish) air blew on the feet. I'd then toggle to main cabin and it would blow cold A/C. This was tested at about 68F for the temp setting. Changing to 67F or lower would start to create some cool air, but still nothing like the cabin. We also tried blowing full heat at max temp for some time thinking that a temp sensor in the car may be picking up the car is cool, but that did not help, either. There seems to be an issue with the temp settings there, so maybe a software update will indeed fix that.

I received an OTA map update yesterday, but no overall iDrive software update yet, I am guessing I will have to pester the dealer come my annual oil change.

Update:

Started with ID7 version 7/2021.50. First visit to the dealer I was updated to 3/2022.71. The A/C problem was not fixed, and they said a brand new one was available in a couple of weeks. Last week they called me and asked me to bring it in for the latest update - now I'm on 07/2022.41. The issue is still there and now I'm getting quite annoyed...although it is nice to be on the latest software, I don't know what is included in the updates, and I can't seem to get the change log to pull up when searching Google.

My dealer sounded extremely reluctant to update me to the latest iDrive, almost sounded anoyed that I've called them just because of this. On the other hand I indeed do not have any issues, but I think considering my locale, we're missing some iDrive apps, etc.
Seems the maps updates (comprehensive that can be downloaded from the BMW website and the OTA map) are working okay.
The MyBMW still do not display the version of the car, so I believe my car is just blocked by the local BMW to get any iDrive updates.

I find that most dealers are reluctant to update car software, but with enough pressure they generally will.

Just got updated today in the dealer, because my Android Auto option is not showing, got the version 07/2022.45 installed, but still no android auto option shown, idk whats the AC issue otherwise I would test it to see if it's fixed
