CarPlay/AA Restoration Update - Option Code 6P1

Thanks to all those who've contributed to this thread and the updates provided. Dealership contacted last night and all booked in now for Friday 20th to complete the update and make sure the CarPlay updates as expected.

Funnily enough my local dealership called me today to tell me about it - I had to explain to them that i'd already got an appointment booked in for it. Apparently they are contacting everyone on a list they pulled from their system

I have an x3 with sp1 issue
Without planning any appointment starting 28th may an OTA update will be pushed to my idrive restoring both wifi and carplay, is that correct?

My car is at the dealership tomorrow. Hopefully they are able to install the latest software version. If so; then I hope CarPlay will be immediately available this Thursday.. and not via a staggered roll-out starting this Thursday.

There shouldn’t be any problems. My dealership did the update in just about 45 minutes. The only setting that was reseted was the engine sound feature

My car was at the dealership two weeks ago, for the alarmsystem and they tried to install the latest ISTA version, but it failed for some unknown reason.
So hopefully it will work tomorrow.

Backend connected drive should be instant worldwide. ( tomorrows change )

It's the RSU that they stagger by region , but that doesn't start for at least another week
