Hey all
Due to the fact it's my first post here and cannot make new topic I will post it here. Can you code sport mode to 1 series F40? G20 forums is way more advanced in every aspect compering to the one about 1 series. Are g20 and f40 systems the same? |

It should be the same since I believe it has the latest iDrive version?

Hi Guys, just joined to say thanks for all the info, finally coded Sport+ and also for it to show on iDrive. The difference between Sport and Sport+ is very noticeable, better throttle response and more aggressive on gear changes.
Glad I was able to code this in as I was a little disappointed in the way the car drove in standard sport mode, this is my first BMW, now it feels like a car that is fun to drive. I would like to add if you’re driving in Sport+ mode then I wouldn’t recommend switching the shifter left to sports gearbox, to me it felt as though it lost the throttle response and sportiness, just stick with the Sport+ mode put your foot down and have fun, of course still driving safe and obeying all driving and traffic laws |

Thank you all for the info. Finally I was able to code sport+ and comfort+. At first I did it with M skin for live cockpit and without edits to iDrive and was shocked that didn't worked, but once I rolled everything back I saw in default skin all modes and than found how to bring them to iDrive.
Now I stuck because of modes visibility to default skin, though I'd love to keep M one. Any ideas how to get drive modes onto? Also if there would be a possibility to lower max speed and rpms of engine that would be super cool. Red line from 7000-6500 make more sens here )) |

Went back to default one, coded to start in "Sport individual" with comfort presets, so I can start slowly with additional M-badge on top )) Still wonder if there is an option to add M-cockpit font into default skin? has anybody tried to do that? |

Is the Sport+ mode even available on the M340i by factory?
FYI, if you did not know so far: the latest update of Bimmercode added support for ENET cable on Android devices. (you will need an USB OTG Ethernet adapter) Coding via Ethernet/ENET is way much faster, than Bluetooth. (really, really faster!) |

For anyone without coding options at the moment, you can get sport plus on a different way. It certainly worked this way in my M235i auto and gave more exhaust noises. Changed transmission and engine response ever so slightly.
Put car into sport, and push the gear knob to the side into "manual sport". As long as you don't push up/down on paddles or the gear knob it will still stay automatic, even in 'manual' mode. Enjoy |

That's nothing new and even my 1997 5 Series E39 had this.
I also doubt that this switches the driving mode to Sport Plus, but instead in normal Sport mode. |

Well having driven in Sport and gearbox in Manual Sport, and then in Sport Plus and normal auto car felt identical. Looking in the coding options too Sport Plus only has adjustments to the Transmission and Engine. Nothing for suspension or steering. My F22 sport plus would change the dsc as well but it doesn't seem to do that on the G20

Just seeing this post and not wanting to read through 9 pages I just wanted to add that if you can add Sport+ through coding just do it!
I went full boat on my M340i order so I have Sport+ from the factory but didn't realize it was there till a few months into having the car and when I did it was holy sh!t! I would usually keep the car in Sport and have some fun with the paddles when the road would encourage it but in Sport+ the throttle response was just a bit quicker but even better the gear changing was just spot on. Up, down, and holds were better than I could even plan and I ended up stopping using the paddles and just let the computer take over it was that good. Seriously. I'm still stunned as to how well the transmission works in Sport+. |
