Just installed 245/40/19 and 265/40/19 and now dsc is confused. Anyone else see this? Installed by dealer and they are confused.
Only difference from what I've read here is they we put on 40 series instead of 35's for the rear as i wanted the tallest side wall to fill the gap. (791M 8" front 8.5" rear rim sizes) Can the slight diff in circumference cause that? Surely not? Help....... Looks GREAT and way better than stock but with the stock "look" Will post pics when I can get back to the dealer out of town while they're figuring this out.

Dealer replaced runflats with 245/40/19 and 265/40/19 and rear rims to 8.5 (stock was square8")
When accelerating at 55 dsc comes on or any moderate accel. Way too easily and without loss of traction..... A circumference issue, confusing the software? Dealer is confused. Thought it would be straight forward. Rims ok per them and Michelin. Most have done 265/35 in the rear. Wonder if that could be it?

I just installed some winter tires (Toyo GSi-6) in the factory sizes that came on my M340i. 255/35/19 in the rear and 225/40/19 in the front. I also get the DSC light come on when going around a corner at any speed over 30 kph. I changed the tire type in the IDrive system to winter and "other" and did the reset procedure.

This. Not to mention a 265/40/19 is too wide for an 8.5" wheel. You should take your car straight back to your dealer (or perhaps a different one) and have them fix this ASAP. If your car is xDrive, you're going to do considerable damage to the drivetrain.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still traveling but heard back yesterday car is ready for pickup with 265/35's in the rear. That 40 series was clearly wrong as stated here. Also, apparently Michelin does approve of an 8.5" rim with that tire.......
Can report driving feel next week.

You still haven't answered if you have xDrive. If you do, the corrected rear tire size is still bad fitment at 5% differential front to rear diameters.

Sorry didn't see where you asked me that..... but it IS xdrive (see my signature too). Dealer installed and leased, I'm not too worried.

Will do, and it looks WAY better in pic's. Much less "gap" without lowering and enough rubber to not worry too much about Bay Area roads.
I will take proper ones when I get back home. May still want spacers, though. Will see....

Looks much better, way less gap. Drives well. Haven't pushed it. Still need spacers, I think. I like the meatier stock look....
Last pic was stock wheels and before front splitter. Hard to tell in the pics but much improved look and feel compared to the 225 runflats.......

I agree, the car looks better with meaty tires and it closes the gap better. I am done with the lower profile tires now and want to be able to drive without clinching my but cheeks every time I hit or come up on a pothole or mancover. Glad to see you can put a 245 on a 8 inch rim.

Perfect, thank you. I did push the dealer on this and they pushed back. So good to confirm all ok with this set up. As you commented and I saw, the 265/40 series is a no go with the fronts I have.
