Placed an order on Tuesday 3/7 and my SA was able to trade for an allocation. It was a week 14 (4/3-4/9) build allocation so I already have a production number and was able to add it to MYBMW garage. I also noticed this morning that the 2024 configurator is live on the BMW site.

I’m really debating switching my m340i order for a 440GC, but headroom in the back and a spare tire knowing I’ll be switching to non-RFTs is holding me back. The biggest benefits to me are the hatch in the back, not that I have folded down the seats in my SUV more than twice to carry larger objects that won’t fit in my 340 trunk.

I don’t have passengers in the back often, but when I do it’s for hours at a time. Also for the spare tire, I know fix it kits are out there, but I take road trips quite often and the last thing I want is to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with a flat that I can’t patch.

Also I currently don’t have a car, so even if i did get an April allocation, it would be late May/June as a best case that I’d have my car.

I don't need my car until October but am torn between M340i Xdrive and M440i GC Xdrive. I currently have a 2019 AMG C43 with AMG PE. The new 4 cylinder C43 is out of the question. Prior to my C43 I had an F30 340i XDrive....so thinking the M440i GC XDrive will be a nice change as I had a 340i. Also the M440i GC XDrive is made in Germany. I will be purchasing...not leasing....and it seems to me perhaps a German build is a better investment.

I plan now to order the exact same car and options...except in Portimao Blue. I just prefer the lighter blue...my thinking less trouble to keep looking clean.

Any idea of when to order to get delivery date in October?

Man, why is the M440 so much more expensive than the M340? I have the exact same options specced on an M340 and the msrp is like $64k

It is a slightly different car.

Agreed, the 440 now feels overpriced. When I spec’d it out it came to 70K.
