you should be getting 6-7% AND incentives for finance. Lease is a bigger % off, but you won't actually own the car unless you buy it after the lease is up.

Initial request for sale price provided these numbers from advisor.

$62,800 MSRP
$57,095 sale price (~9.1%)
$3,000 incentives
$54,095 selling (~14%)
$295 gov fees
$144 proc/doc fees
$925 acquisition fee
60% residual

I asked 0 down but they added $1,000 CCR
Total due signing $3,077.05 (fees + 1st month + CCR + tax)..

Monthly of $623. (36/12k)

Based on my calcs (which may be incorrect), they are using an MF of 0.00176 rather than a base MF of .00128.
Before I bring this up with possible MSDs rather than downpayment, I want to negotiate the MSRP more.

What are your thoughts on how far I can push it next?

Hi, could you please tell me the dealer's name? Thanks

Here in San Francisco Bay Area it's hard to get below 9-10%. I was able to get 8.5% off msrp plus 4K in incentives. Had to shop around a bit

Need more details.
Dealer fees, mileage, years (to know residual), MF, DAS.
Also suggest not putting anything down and do MSDs.

MSDs or multiple security deposits are deposits you can make (usually your monthly payment rounded up to the nearest $50) that reduce your MF which is pretty much your interest rate for the lease. Each deposit you put down will get you a certain amount of MF reduction saving you money on the lease so you can make 1 deposit up to 7 deposits. The MSDs are due at the time of lease signing along with any other down payment being made. At the end of the lease you get the MSDs you put down back.

Based on my quote how would it change it to the point where I didn't have to put anything down?

Seems like a solid deal. Some folks were suggesting that the MF could possibly drop in November.

M340i Deal

Hi

I am helping my Brother in law negotiate on a 2020 BMW M340i located in Dallas, TX. He plans to finance.

I offered 10 percent off MSRP plus incentives but the salesperson came back with saying that their margin on these cars are at 6%.

Looking around the forum I noticed before 2020 buyers were getting 8 to 11 percent off MSRP. Is this still the case now?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

The salesperson coming back and saying their margin is 6% is just a sales tactic to quickly dissipate any attempts of negotiation beyond that.

Invoice pricing is more like 8%, plus there is typically a 1-2% in dealer "holdback" cash.

The best way to negotiate this would be to involve multiple dealers and get them to bid on your business. You should still be able to achieve anywhere between 8-12% off pre-incentive.

No idea about the M340i. But a few days ago, I asked for 10% off a 2020 M550i and the dealer here agreed without saying anything back. So I’m sure some more discount is easily possible on that car.
Like wtwo3 said, shop around. Don’t stick to one dealer. You don’t need to go in. Email them and ask for the best offer.

i got 8 something + incentives on an ordered car. So yeah they can definitely do better than 6. In LA i've heard for a lot car 10% should be doable, the dealer I went to said they'd do that if I took one off the lot. Not sure where you are in CA.
