Average Fuel Consumption
Hi All
Just wondering how long 1x59 Litre filled tank gets you. Mine is about 565 Km's just driving around the suburbs. Its funny when I first got the car it said 750Km's hahha , so I think it learns now what to estimate. Thanks Cheers |

I’ve only filled the car once and it has 1037 klms on it after that fill so I guess I’m getting 518 klms per tank which isn’t bad for a 6 cylinder. That said haven’t really started pushing it.

After 7900km my M340i is showing 8.5 litres per 100km. Whenever I refill, it generally shows range of 670 to 690km .
That's from a mix of NZ smallish city commuting and on our ratty so called highways around the North Island. But we do have a couple110km hour expressways nearby so not all bad. Coincidentally thats exactly the same consumption as my 2017 F30 340i was doing. |

I've been doing mixed driving mainly in Sport. Previous car was a Q7 3l Diesel and that averaged 26mpg (11/100) so happy to be getting slightly better fuel economy which I wasn't expecting.

I'm still amazed that my M340i does 8.5l per 100k. though. Amazing technogy and engineering improvements in 20 years. |

I’m averaging 10.0 l/100 km: mixture of highway and city driving. On a highway drive at 100 kph, with a couple of swift overtakes, I’m getting around 8.8 l/100 km

Took an easy drive out to Maldon, in north West Country Victoria, before 2nd COVID lockdown last weekend.
Was interested to see what economy I could achieve in eco pro mode. Used the assisted driving mode. Sat on 110 and the car almost drove itself. Amazing consumption! Better than 46mpg in the old units.

Hybrids will not get lower fuel consumption than the same car with same size engine as a none hybrid on the motorway.
Hybrids excel in city stop start driving because you are using the stopping energy that goes to waste in a none hybrid. Of course if you have a plug in hybrid and you charge the batteries you will get some free mileage. The other thing with hybrids, most use Atkinson cycle engines, I don't know if BMW does, they produce lower power but are more economical engines. The electric motor makes up the power deficit, especially of the mark as they have max torque from zero RPM. Diesels will get best mileage on the motorway, because they are more efficient and one lt diesel fuel has more energy that one lt of petrol. |

I rolled into work this morning in adaptive and averaged 7L/100 (about 25 mins. Pretty good.
Since I picked her up over the last month I've averaged low 9s. |

Highway driving doing 150km/h most of the time with a few 180/200 passes I did 720km with a bit left in the tank second gas light came on. Could have probably done more had I maintained 120km/h.
Was myself with maybe 100lbs of stuff in the trunk. |
