Had mine on for a while now (4-5K, lost count honestly) and it hasn't collected anything. The Supra guys have a Mishimoto option that connects on the other end of the engine that supposedly catches stuff from there than where the the BMS connects up.

I was wondering the same thing, between vtt bms or mishimoto. I switched to the ftp inlet, and noticed a decent amount of oil in the old inlet pipe, so thought it might be a wise and fairly cheap preventative mod.

I recently saw the VTT one. It looks like it connects off a vacuum hose from the inlet whereas the BMS hooks up off a PCV line. But nothing really comes through the PCV line, from what I understand.

Been reading up on these as well. Marketed towards the Supra, but a B58 is a B58 and mounting is identical. Looks a bit more robust than just a catch can as it'll filter and drain the oil it caught back into the engine.

It should fit. I was following the Supra instructions for the charge pipe swap I did. Only difference I noted between engines (and subsequently engine bay) is the clip on the stock charge pipe actually having a coolant hose running through it or not.

Ohhh. Sorry about that. I have a 2020, so I was speaking in that regards. I'm not certain about the 2021s.

I have a 2020 as well, i meant the supra versions changed slightly. Versus has two versions, and I believe even the downpipe mounting bracket changed in 2021.

So does anyone have any experience with any of these options on the b58tu? Preferably on a non-tuned car, I would imagine if it worked on a stock car then with a tune it would only catch more anyways.

Yeah, I'd love to get an update on this.
For one, has anyone used the heat shield and tested fitment. I have one from a 2021 Supra and I'm putting it in my 2020 m340i if it will fit. Secondly and most importantly, has anyone found a catch can that will work for the VVT side or tested the Supra one. That's really the main thing I'm worried about. |

I did a turbo upgrade and had to remove a lot of parts, the stock inlet too. So I‘ve noticed, that there is an „integrated“ catch can and that should be enough. As you can see, the vent pipe is connected to the upper side of the inlet, and if there is any oil, then it will be collected in the red marked part of them ( of course it can be full at some point). The ventillated gas/air comes back trough the lot of small holes into the inlet.
