M340i oil leak?

Hey guys,
I had a notification in my car to add a quart of oil again. I'm at 5500 miles now (first time was around 3400 miles.) When I went to add the quart of oil I noticed these stains on my engine cover in the image Do any of you know what this is? Is it common? Also on a side note, which oil do you guys use?

A trip to the dealer won't hurt.

If oil is coming out of the bottom it's bad. But out of the top?? Did you properly close the lid last time?

Yea, I closed the lid properly last time. Its not coming from the cap it seems to be coming from under the engine cover

Oil line or gasket? Trip to dealer before you blow the engine!

I would make a trip to the dealer, you shouldn't be leaking oil, especially this early. I'd assume its a gasket but you should get it taken care of soon. Let us know what they say.

I had a somewhat similar issue, definitely not leaking as bad but I had to top up twice and I'm only at 2300 miles. Just dropped it off at the dealer, will update with details.

Added 1 quart at 3300k , which I will chalk up to new car break in. I don't see a leak or smell any oil. If it happens again before 10k service I will have it checked. More that once per 10k should not be normal

I’m at 7500 miles and no oil needed. Changed oil at 1000 miles and that is it.
I’d get to dealer ASAP.

I just got back from the service center, they checked the car and everything checked out and seems fine. They asked me to come back after 1000 miles without topping up so they can run an oil consumption test.

This reminds me of the mystery low coolant on first gen B58 when it came out in 2016. Now it looks like low oil is the issue with the B58TU. Maybe it's coming from the turbo.
