Windshield Washer Spray Defective?

Did BMW change how the windshield washer spray nozzles work on the G20? I noticed on my M340 that when I activate the washer it seems to release the liquid close to the wiper blade and then it gets wiped across the windshield as opposed to spraying on the windshield. Not sure if this is the new normal or if this indicates a clogged / defective nozzle.

Yes, they changed it. Why would you presume this isn't working correctly? Instead of sprayers up or right under the bonnet they now are integrated in the wiper arms.

They should have shown you that during delivery

Why should they? There's lot of things changed. This isn't even something that I find that important since you only would need to know when having maintenance. And then u always have the owners manual..

Because it's different than all other cars I've driven or owned, including my 2013 328 and my 2016 340. I believe traditionally most cars spray fluid across the windshield so when I saw fluid collecting at the base of the blade before it even wiped across the windshield I thought something might be wrong. I mean, it still doesn't spray from the blades... it just sorts of collects there and then gets wiped across.

Even though it's minor I agree. I'm sure I'm not the only person to be a bit confused by this. They went over most changes that are incorporated into the G20. Maybe this one was overlooked.

Are you sure it doesn't spray from the arm itself? I cannot remember from my testdrive.

Yeah, it seems to drizzle out and collect on the blade then gets wiped across. Seems a bit weird that's why I wonder if the sprayer(s) are clogged or defective.

Then there is something wrong with yours. Check for clogs first.

I'm standing next to a 330i right now, the nozzles are actually part of the arms and aren't under the bonnet anymore.
