I tried going to DZM_Variante and selecting B58_benziner option as was mentioned above but the instrument cluster remains at 8000 rpm redline. There was no difference between the two options.

Anyone was able to reduce RPMs to 7000 without using Alpina cluster?

I have 2 questions:

1) I'm also curious to see if I can keep the M cluster (see pictures) and reduce RPM to that of a B58 engine.

2) is there ANY way to bring the RPM gauge back to HUD in "sport" mode while keeping M display?

Thanks much!!
No problem.

1) Change DZM_VARIANTE in DKOMBI4 to benziner_b58, if you are on 330i, default selection will be benziner_ohne_b58. Coding this should give you RPM limits in M cluster.

2) Not possible yet, I have done lots of experimenting and cannot get HUD to show with M cluster. More information is needed to code this.

I have M340i US version.
I've tried both options as you mentioned and the RPMs are still at 8000...

Maybe it's different on 330i 🤷*♂️

Do you know if this function works for M340?

I tried that too. It didn’t change anything for my RPM gauge cluster and I have a 330.

If someone can figure out RPMs, that would amazing!!

Meanwhile, I got ahold of some software engineers/bmw enthusiasts from Europe, they said they were able to figure out how to bring the RPM gauge back to HUD in sport mode while retaining M cluster.

They said it would need to be remote coded via eNet cable using E sys.

I should buy the cable and I'll keep you posted over the next several days whether that went well or not..

I should note RPMs are not fixed, just RPM limits. You know the yellow/red part before you hit RPM limit? That will change with DZM_VARIANTE

The physical dash number will not change.

I have M340 and maybe this is different on 330i..

I went to DKOMBI4, and selected B58_benziner

Display looks the same with no RPM cutoffs (red or yellow)

A quick update.
If you select s63 from one of the options (see attached file), then the digital cluster will have the yellow and red lines or RPM limiter from the X5 M. It's not the true limiters of B58, but it's better than not having any..

M layout is so cool.
Still wonder if someone figured out:
1) if there is a way to reduce max speed 330 to 260 km/h
2) can we get back driving modes and gearbox mode

Kinda late to the party, but I got the m cluster and only S doesn't show, everything else does. But umm question, if youre not going to manual mode.. does it matter if there's no rpm limit lines? Will the car still automatically protect from red lining?

With the shifter in S, it will automatically upshift at or close to the redline. It's only in M mode that it doesn't upshift (it'll downshift automatically even in M to prevent the car from stalling).

To those who are familiar the subject;

How likely would you say it is that within the next year we are able to have the M-Cluster coded on the LCI 3 series?
