AA Concepts Front Lip Install

I will start off by saying, if you didnt have a lip before, this is super easy to do. If you have the M-Performance lip already, plan for a day of getting the goo off your front bumper. BMW decided to put nuclear blast proof glue all over the bumper in addition to the dozens of bolts and push clips to secure the 3 pound lip. My fingers will be sore for days getting that crap off. I used everything in my arsenal and it still took the better part of 10 hours in the hot sun getting it off. Anyhow I digress...

I wanted to replace my M-Performance lip and splitters with something slightly more aggressive, but not a lip I could eat dinner off of because it stuck out so far. This was a good compromise, it's carbon fiber, goes with my look/theme, and the price was right. I also picked up the carbon fiber shark fin that I'm quite pleased with.

Links and notes!

This doesnt use the stock bumper holes, but it doesnt really matter, the stock ones also are big giant holes underneath and this gives you the ability to pick your own screws to secure it.

It comes with double sided tape on the lip, while this is fine, dont depend on that or you'll find yourself running over your lip doing 80 on the highway and obliterating your car. Use self tapping screws! It's so easy to do and you'll guarantee it wont fall off.

You can buy a black grill and swap just the outer piece to achieve the same look

How are you liking the aac lip? Thinking about ordering. How is the overall fit and finish of the carbon?

It's great. Fitment for me was 9/10, quality of the carbon I would say also 9/10 there are very few if any noticeable imperfections, especially from normal standing/viewing distance.

I think it's the best complement to the front end without being excessively aggressive, suits the car well and just enhances the look a bit. It's slightly more pronounced than the stock lip option without carbon fiber attachments basically.

Looks great. Awaiting mine with Bay and a few other guys now...listening to any advice on how to mount.

Mine came without pre-installed tape, so I just used 3M super strength as well as 3M adhesive promoter and the self tappers/washers shown in this thread for install. I used the 1/2" and ran it all the way to the edges, then used a razor blade to trim along the edge to make it a clean line.

For my one edge at the wheel well for some reason it didn't hold very well with the washer and self tappers, I ended up only using the self tapper only for that one spot to ensure a secure hold.

Lip comes with holes pre-drilled so you will know where to drill. Just install tape, peel back about 6" on both sides to temporarily tack in place and check fitment, then peel the rest of the tape and followup with the self tappers to secure.

Was my first time installing a lip but it really was quite easy thanks to all the details here and help from other board members!

I was considering this same grill from AAC, looks good!

Only thing holding me back was the dummy camera covering for the front camera that I do not have. Looks like yours doesn't have that though so curious where you found it?
